hcwlsu,

Sorry to hear that. I'm hoping it doesn't happen to me. I took it to my dealer, and the service manager said that he would be consulting the engineers on it. They've had for about a week now, and i'm starting to get really irritated. They gave me a decent rental for the time being (Murano) but it's not the same. Only had the Z for 3 weeks and this BS happens. Anyway if they figure out the problem I'll give you guys a heads up on it for sure. Thanks for all the help.

You really shouldn't blame Nissian as a whole. I have a 2005 Z with 7000 and a 2005 Xtterra with 11000 on it and neither one has had anything worng with them. Sorry you got a bum car. I think there is a few with every Auto maker. Just a few more with some rather than others.

They also told me that they were consulting the engineers, etc. What this really means is that they call a nissan support line on the telephone and they try to give them other ideas. I hope you get a better answer. I am still terrified when in heavy traffic that the car will break down.

Hey guys. Just wanted to let you know that they decided to give me a brand new transmission. It was not the crank sensor because they replaced it and the problem was still there. My fiance told the service manager that she did not feel safe in the car and I guess the manager took it seriously and decided to give us the new tranny. Hope your situation works out.

Don't give up on nissan in general. I've had 94 Sentra, 95 Maxima, 97 Maxima SE, 99 Sentra SE-L, and my 05 Z. I never experienced any serious problems with any of them. The service is hit or miss. It all depends on the dealership. I dispise the service dept where I purchased my car. I go to a diff dealer and get world class service everytime. Try another dealership and tell the other place to kiss it.

While you are at it, set it on fire like everyone else suggests. If nothing else it would be cool to watch.

Tigga09,

What exactly was your car doing? I would be careful because it sounds like an electrical problem. I would not want them tearing out my transmission, replacing it and then having the problem again.
