Bose CD player issues
several months ago my left front and rear speakers started cutting out (sounded like the speakers might have went bad). The dealer couldn't replicate the problem of "power" going to the speakers and couldnt validate the order for a new unit. It seemed the problem was isolated to only burned cd's, b/c the radio played through the speakers fine. Weeks after that, I noticed the speakers cut out ONLY when using the CD unit (radio worked fine playing through the speakers). I went back to the dealer and told them the updated status, which they ordered a new unit, replaced it and the problem is fine so far....very weird. Basically, only the CD component of the unit was the problem.
not sure if anyone has any insight to any history of this.
thx!

Wierd.. because today, I had a similar problem. It wasn't a burnt CD, but the speakers were going in and out, but only for like a split second. I took the CD out and it wasn't dirty or scratched at all (just bought it). So I hope my amp or w/e isnt broken
My left speakers dont work on cd mode either. Sometimes if I hit the right side of the console really hard it comes on. I have an aftermarket navigation in the cubby so the dealer wont fix it.

dang...I didn't realize this was such a widespread issue.
The dealer swapped mine out in an hr, now I can bump my jams w/out being annoyed on my commute. also, I should have had him swap it out with the new Bose 2006 models w/out the tape deck. oh well.
thanks everyone.

They wouldn't give me a different year. In fact, the one you got was probably a refurb unit like all my replacements have been. They have to send in a like model number according to my dealership (of course, they could have been telling me a story).

Mine just did this the other day, but I don't think I have the Bose model. I just have whatever cheap one came with the base (normal CD player). It's actually a replacement as the first one (which worked fine) got a CD stuck in it (OK, not so fine). This one returns errors and the cutting in and out is new (reinserted CD and it worked fine, so far).
