I have access to a ’05 Track and a ’04 Performance 350Zs and both will get happily broad side when the VDC OFF button is depressed.
I think people are mistaking the action of other systems for some VDC response. ABS, ABLS, EBD, AB are all still active then and will affect the car’s behavior…

This thread we are posting in right now (I wasn't referring to the link) is about unplugging the yaw sensor (same as interrupting a wire with a switch), which does not involve pulling a fuse or disabling ABS. Just didn't want people to think that unplugging the yaw sensor would kill the ABS; that's all.
I followed the thread you linked closely at the time of it's authoring; just been a while since I've visited the idea, so I need to go back and identify that wire.

I thought that long-**** thread did have a repost from the earlier thread about capturing the Yaw sensor with a switch. But I could be mistaken.
I won't restate the author's name because I don't think he likes to be associated with the mod for liability reasons.. But you are correct, ABS stays on with this mod..
If you grab this wire and put it on a switch then you can turn off the yaw sensor whenever you want. When that is off you will see the SLIP and VDC OFF lights all the time. TCS and VDC will be completely off. ABS will be 100% functional.
Anyways, there are still other posts on here asking what these systems really are. Your owner's manual describes them in perfect detail. All you have to remember is that VDC is only a part of the TCS system. The TCS system is built of many components (yaw sensors, steering angle sensors, throttle position sensors, etc etc.).
Fortunately thanks to the nasty math in physics, everything dealing with the TCS that we want to turn off for track use all meets at a junction in the Yaw Sensor. This makes it simple to turn the entire TCS system off but retain the ABS system (which seems to be unrelated to the TCS system in terms of functionality and circuit, but they can both engage at the same time).
If you pull that big fuse where ALL of these systems, including the ABS, come together then I believe you lose the TCS, the ABS, and your combination meter (speedo, tach, etc.). Not sure about that but I think there is more tied to this magic fuse than folks believe.
Hope that helps
