Why so much coverage? Planning on hitting something expensive? I carry 50/100K, never figured I'd need more than that, even in CA.

Wow, Not sure why he has that much coverage. i did up mine to 300k though, only because it was required to rent exotics. i like to once a year rent a nice car for the day since I know I will never be able to actually own one my self. My next rental will be the Gallardo, just have to save up some money in my rental kitty.

I'm 16 and my insurance is like $110/month. We put the car in my dads name and didn't put me as a primary driver of any of our cars. I'm an additional driver on them, makes it much cheaper. I also have no tickets(knocks on wood), took drivers ed(discount), and got some good grades discounts.

Default Base model

Get the base model(hope you can drive a manual, if not it's time to learn). It's safer for an inexperienced driver and insurance is significantly cheaper.

try closer to at least 300+. and if u get a ticket its gonna be worse.

put the car in mom/dads name, and get on their policy. then put u as the driver to moms car. voila, problem solved.
that's what i did. and i'm paying $1,300 every 6 months for my mom's 4 runner and she's paying 1,000 every 6 months for my Z. i used to pay $3,000 every 6 months for my tc under my name in my parents policy so i would of paid around $4,000 every 6 months if the Z was under my name on their policy.

150 a month, uncle is an insurance man for state farm and im 21... i would say honestly full coverage under parents policy probably best to insure you under another car, and dad or mommy under that Z get the price withing 250 -300 range otherwise probably 500+ for just you.

Well my son is 16 and he only has a permit, here in nj you cant get your license until you have had your permit for 6 months or until your 17 , which ever comes first. how is it in Connecticut?
