nose camera mount/jib arm
While figuring out what shots I'd liek to get of the Z for the DVD, I made a camera mount for some nose shots of the Z while driving.
Using the tow hook for the main pivot/mounting point, I welded up a jib arm with telescoping insert for the camera to bolt up to.
I then added a cross brace which mounts inside the bumer area to hold the arm from swinging.
A 5 minute install and when it's off you'd never know it was on there.
It provides some unique shots!

You got me thinking about how that tow hook could be used to mount cameras. Some ideas.
Mount one low, facing forward, a few inches off the ground, right in front of the car
Mount one on a long bracket, so that it faces back toward the driver, looking backward and slightly downward. Stabilizing this would be kind of difficult, but you could probably hook it up like you did with yours.
Hmm, those would be nice shots, you could see the drivers expression and movement of the steering wheel, along with all that scenery that you had just passed.
Can't wait for the video.
