Default Did the dealership steal my screws?

I went to get something checked out yesterday and noticed they rubbed some white stuff on some parts of the latches... but then I looked at the engine and noticed something wierd....

Did they take those 2 screws??? That never caught my eye before... but not I see that I have 2 missing screws =P

Umm, I'm trying to remember off of the top of my head. When I put my plenum spacer on I think there were a couple of spaces like that that didn't have screws in them and I wondered if they were supposed to be there.

I just checked my engine, mine are missing too. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I think that's just how they are stamped, cast or however they are manufactured. I thought I remembered them being like that before, but wanted to double check before I said anything.

I hate having to take my car in for service. I'm convinced that dealerships cannot fix anything without damaging something else. When I had the tire feathering TSB done, they scratched both my front rims and had to send them to a bodyshop to have them refinished. When they switched my Bose headunit that was skipping, they scratched the front of the center top panel right above the headunit. Once when I owned a 300ZX they actually overfiled the oil on an oil change (they put 5 quarts in, the car took 4.25 quarts). All this done by 'Nissan factory certified' mechanics as being qualified to work on your car. If you ask me they could care less about your car.

I paid good money for my car and take pride in it. Always kept in a garage, parked out of the way to avoid dings. Wash and wax to keep up it's apperance only to have some grease monkey that could give a rats **** about your car **** it up for you

They stole the bolts on my plennum too, so you don't any thing to worry about. By the way, why is your engine so dirty?

Ah yes now I remember why I always do all the maintenance on my bikes myself.

+1 I also do my own maintenance, but unfortunately, warranty work must be performed by a dealer. I also owned a Yamaha r6 and when they were exchanging some faulty ignition coils the tech managed to drop my fuel tank, which of course the dealer replaced.

What is with factory certified technicians that can't seem to fix something without damaging another? Is this what the dealers charge $100+ an hour labor for?

$100 an hour is to replace/redo all the parts they screw up.

In other words - we still end up paying for it.
