I haven't actually driven in the snow with my stock tires so I didn't have much of a comparison. After spending a grand on snow tires/wheels I was expecting a lot more. I was naive, little did I know they did make a huge difference. Being my first winter (I'm from california), I didn't know what to expect. But after driving my ex-girlfriends FWD celica gt-s on her stock tires... Wow, my car was 100 times safer.

I TRIED to drive in the snow one time but I got stuck in my driveway in about an inch of snow. My first MOD was a 1995 Corolla. It was probably cheaper than a set of snow tires!! and I have had it for 2 years and use it as my daily driver.

Even a set of Good all Seasons are worlds better than the summer tires. You can get a set of Falken Ziex-512's for less than $600 Installed.

I drove my Z with just a light dusting of snow on the ground and I almost wrecked it. When home and got on tirerack.com and ordered some Blizzak's. Next snow storm we got 8 inches in 6 hours. When I got out of work at midnight of course the roads were untouched. I made it home just fine. I actually saw Suv's in the ditch. My z actually gets around better in the snow that all of my previous FWD vehicles.
