WTF !!!! So stupid.
Well I just decided to pop the hood and check how much oil i have in my car (Not sure wat the oil rod is correctly called), and to my suprise I couldnt get it back in, and the point went down the side. So I lost my temper as you do, and tried to rip it out, although all im doing is bending it,,, and its just stuck there now.
This is ridiculous...

The names not important, I managed to get it out, and place it back into the hole... lol it just worried me for a second. Thats the first time I pulled the "dipstick" out, anyone have this problem the first time around ?
Yea first time I tried it was Kinda dark and I could not find the hole again, thats never happened before lol. Its positioned in an awkward angle, don't think Nissan really thought that one through.

After I got my z was checking the engine out and pulled the dipstick. First thing I thought of was how bad of a design that was! I mean all they had to so is extend it upwards more and make the damn stick longer.
You know Yank... I was thinking the exact same thing but there is something inside me that is screaming for me to shut my mouth so I think I am going to listen to that little voice in my head and shut up.

I have not touched my dipstick yet.. it has been about a month. 50 miles from break in. Should I get my hands dirty? It is getting more and more difficult to keep her under 4k.. I've busted through a few times already..just cuz I can't help it... but no dipstick.
Just make sure you're driving around with enough oil pressure. After all you have a gauge for it right on the dash.
Best way to determine oil level is to do an oil change. Obviously you should get 5 qts out - if you don't, you have oil consumption.

I think the dickstick I mean dipstick is there because the VQ is designed for front-wheel-drive cars, where the engine is positioned side ways, and the dipstick is facing the front.

The VQ on my Pathfinder doesn't have this problem. I do not think the VQ used in any other application has the problem either. Is it the placement of the MAF?
