Default So tell me about the 5AT 350z

So im pretty intrested in picking up a used 350z in the summer but the catch is i have to get an auto!

here are my questions:
1) is the stock tranny strong? because the car will not be left stock
2) what is the average baseline dyno on AT Z's
3) is most of the mods from the MT work on the AT?

EDIT*
4)can i spank my friends G35? and how badly?
5) what are some commom problems on the Z?
thanks

Welcome

. There are at least 5 recent threads comparing the manual to automatic transmission. I suggest that you not waste time reading them: Manual drivers prefer manual. Automatic drivers prefer automatic. Its all good.

Buy what suits you.

1. To the extent of my knowledge, it's pretty strong (have seen FI automatic Z's, but not sure if they modified the tranny at all)
2. I believe it is on average about the same as an MT
3. Yes
4. As mentioned, driver's race
5. Tire feathering, cabin noises, handles horribly on wet road and snow is a nightmare (with stock tire setup)

Talk to Aggro_Al and he'll tell you everything you want to know about the AT Z

Why dont you MT guys stay out of this AT related thread?
He is asking questions that you MT guys couldn't possibly answer without having a AT Z anyway.

this is going to get ugly...

But to stick on topic, it is nice to have an auto on a couple of occasions... when I've been at work all day and i'm really really tired I hate having a 6spd, or when I've been sitting in traffic for over an hour and my knee starts to hurt.
