Default door ding

has anyone gotten a door ding on the "crease" of the door? someone told me it was impossible to do a paintless dent removal on these because it is in the "line" going across the door. i was just wondering if anyone else had gotten these and had them repaired.

They can be removed. It just depends on how good the PDR guy is. I recommend Chris with Dent Terminator (626-291-2721). He did mine, flawless job.

Does anyone have a ding on the curved/stressed area of their rear wheel wells, I have 1 smack dab in the middle of it and from what I've heard it can't be fixed...

I've had one removed on my driver side door, so yes they can be removed. But like what buffmanjeff said, you will need to find a good PDR.

My door was struck hard that the paint rubbed off on the ding. Can a good PDR, such as the Dent Terminator, fix this easily and cheap? Thanks

I bought the PRD kit and tried it, but I dont have the experience to actually get any dings off of my car.

same here, I hate it, it's the biggest eye sore on my car and people don't really notice till I point it out... And until I decide to repaint it or do some body work, it's going to stay there...

I had a nasty one on my driver side door right on the crease.

I called a pdr guy that operated under the name Poppadent here in Cincy.

He looked at it and said "I can get it out, but let me tell you - I'll only do them if I'm sure I can make it perfect. My definition of perfect and yours are a lot different. Mine greatly exceeds yours." I was like, yah buddy I doubt it, but what's the damage gonna be? He told me $85 and I told him to have at it.

He had me roll my window down all the way and then back up an inch. He then stuck a wedge between the door and window to push the door out away from the window. Then he put a sheet of plexiglass down into the door and proceeded to leverage a long metal rod against the plexiglass and started to push the dent out from the inside. He also did some tapping on areas of the dent from the outside (apparently the metal was 'stretched' due do the dent being on both the top and bottom of the crease) and within an hour the dent was gone and the location of it CANNOT be found. You can sight down the side of the car, look at it from above, below, etc. You will not find it. He asked me how it looked and I told him great. He was so proud of his work. Then he told me it would only be $75 because it didn't take him quite as long as he thought it would. Unreal.

Anywho... that's my story. I'd recommend this guy to anyone. For anyone from Cincy who reads this, he's the PDR guy at Jake Sweeney in Tri-County.

Who-Dey.

I just got a new one on my driver's side crease today.

It's the second one in a few months. I'd hate to start parking all they way at the beack of the parking lot. But it's starting to really look bad.

It can be done. They work one side of the crease at a time. I had a guy do mine and it was amazing how he did it. Well worth the 100.00

I think I paid about $60 to have it done, but I couldn't even tell it was there after the guy finished. I was especially pissed because I hit my passenger side door right on the crease with the drivers door of my car parked next to Z in the garage. What a maroon....

Yeah, happened to me before. Right on the crease! Usually whoever repairs it for you will ask a little more because it is right on the crease. I called 1-800-Dent Doc. You can look them up on the internet. They will come to your house!

I called them up, the guy came to my house and fixed it in my garage. The lights in my garage weren't bright enough so I had to hold his flashlight for him. Didn't mind because I got to watch. Had to make sure he wasn't going to half-*** it either. Total was about $100. Can't even tell the dent was ever there, though of course my dent was very very minor. I did it cause it drove me crazy! I had just bought my car too.

It is better to have the ding in the center of the door, panel, hood, etc...
closer to the edge and the PDR dudes may not be able to get it out. Too close to or over the panel framing. So, if some trailer trashed shmuck whacks your door, hope its towards the middle.
