Slipping is too much even on 1 inch of snow..... or a patch of snow..

How everybody is coming around this issue (please dont tell me to garage this car!!!). Has anybody tried some sandbags??

Thanks in advance.

It's the crappy Potenza RE040 Summer TIRES, not the car.

Please see this thread:

get snow tires, or anything other than whats on there, but your best bet is snow tires. then the car is rumored to handle quite well.

ares is correct. With the proper winter tires (I have the Blizzaks) the car is no problem in snow. With the RE040 tires, it is damn near undriveable in snow (as you have seen).

I am with you on that. I cannot see why anybody goes out and buys such a great car to drive just so they can put it in the garage and maybe talk/write about it. I only need one car and I am going to drive it if at all possible. (If it is not possible I won't buy it.) i know they want to preserve it but the fun is in the driving.
just get snow tires or if it does not snow too much all season tires like Michelin.

Ditch those tires.. I have close to 300rwhp and two 70lb sandbags in the back and Good Year Eagle GSCs. and RE730s have been able to walk through over an inch of snow..with minimal effort (just have to take it easy is all)..

I imagine Blizzacks would make things soo much easier.

Default Snow tires!

Although I don't have my Z yet, I have owned many high HP RWD cars (Camaros, Firebirds, etc.) and the only real solution to snow is to get rid of the high performance tires.

I used to go with studded snow tires myself since they are the only thing that will grab ice. Besides, if you spin the wheels they make sparks!

If you want to do even better a bag of sand on top of the snow tires will help a little, but the snow tires make the biggest difference.

Snow tires will decrease your handling significantly on dry roads so be ready for that.

I kept the snows on seperate rims so the factory rims would be spared the twice a year changover. I just used inexpensive rims for the snows since performance was already out the window.
