Base coupe - any regrets?
i have an 06 BASE... absolutely no regrets...
for $26,000 i dunno where else i can have a 300hp car with HIDs, LED tailights, carbon fiber driveshaft, aluminum hood, 18" alloys, wicked muffler sound, award winning 3.5L engine...

Absolutely no regrets on my 06 Base purchase. I have already put on a rear spoiler (of my choice) tinted my windows, put on the factory alloy racing gas/clutch/brake/kick plates, and am now dropping in an awesome sound system. I also didnt get raped at the dealership for the material or labor. Saved myself some cash by selecting my own personal choices not what the factory offered.
BASE is the way to go if you love to mod or if you just want an awesome ride for under 30k. Name another car that gives so much for the price.

i think base is bang for buck. the z isn't like a civic or something. every trim comes with the same engine, body, most of the interior is similar.
with civics and other cars the lower models come with manual windows..., smaller engines..., no cd player..., no ac..., no power locks... different exterior black side moldings etc.
the z comes great already vdc, traction control vlsd is like not really a necessity... screw the crappy sounding bose sound system. hell abs isn't even a necessity. human braking is actually the best but abs is convenient. you can get the same laptimes with or without this stuff with the right driving.
base model z with kaaz 2-way lsd or even nismo, aftermarket wheels such as volk/work, max summer tires, aftermarket big brake kits such as ap racing front/rear, speakers like focal utopia or rainbow, will completely destroy any trim nissan has to offer and still be not too expensive.
i think nissan is overcharging for those trims with not much difference.

I just bought a 06' Base model and I love it. I dont care to have TC or Cruise. Yeah sure cruise would be nice sometimes, but who cares. I am not about to pay that much money just to have cruise control. I would have liked to have gotten the LSD, but you can just buy a better one anyway. Just buy it, you will love it!!!
I'm not sure what the Vehicle Dynamic Control is for, but the other two are totally different things.
1- LSD: The limited slip (viscous) is like a pinion the size of your hand that goes inside the differential. What it does is when a wheel starts spinning it heats up the liquid thereby expanding it to press a plate to force the torque to the onther wheel.
2- TCS is simply a traction control system. I'm not sure how it functions because its complicated. But you can search it. But its definately not an LSD.

I wouldn't get a car without one.
the reason i think its pointless is because here in LA, there are a lot of shiitttyyy drivers who likes to cut infront of you.. a lot of semis.. and just plain traffic at times.. so it gets annoying when you press the brake pedal, then gotta reset the cruise control.. i dono, IMO its pointless
yea i rarely use cruise control myself when i had it on my previous vehicles. i just have trouble trusting the car as well as other drivers on the freeway. even if i was a pilot, i wouldn't use auto-pilot either.
