Makes me sad to see people post like "I put $5k down on a brand new Z!!!" then they have to sell it because XXXXXX happens, such as knee surgery and they owe a lot - sometimes more than it's worth.
No offense intended, but if this happened to you, you should've been driving a less expensive car to begin with.
I mean, if **** hits the fan AGAIN, you're just going to sell your car, AGAIN? Take a loss, AGAIN? Sounds like a bad plan.
Sorry to hear about your loss but I hope it's a valuable lesson to someone out there. Good luck searching for your new sports car but I hope you know what you're doing.

I haven't bothered to read the whole thread, so forgive me, but the GTO is slow as hell man. On our local road course, an AS GTO with 245 Hoosiers was just over 2 seconds a lap slower than my Base 03 Z on Advan R-comps in BS. They have some pull on the straights and are quicker in the quarter, but on a road course the 4000lb plus curb weight and soft suspension sucks. I wouldn't have traded, but good luck to you. I hope you enjoy it, the sound is definately nice.

What 245 hp are you speaking of, the 06 GTO is standard with a 6.0, 400hp corvette motor. It maybe bland to some but in the UK it is an extremely popular car and I might add a hell of a drift car in the US.

Good luck man.
i was thinking about getting a GTO becuase of the 400 horse engine but there is too much that the GTO isn't.
i know it would seem like i'm biased but i really think the Z is better. but its your choice. have fun!

Good luck with the car.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the GTOs, but it is an economic way to get 400bhp.
I ran a GTO a little while back and I believe it was an '05 with the 400hp engine. I didn't run it in the Z, but yeah, those cars are pretty quick. I was actually pretty even from 0-100 or so without a launch, but I think he'd take me from a roll.

This started in the 60's. If you tried to pronounce GTO and were sufficiently dyslexic, you might come up with "goat" (GOT)
I used that phrase with an old girlfriend once and she just ridiculed the sh*t out of me both then and later too. Months later, we were walking around at a classic car show and we walked past two guys talking and I heard one say: "I'm looking to get a 67 goat"
Me: (without even looking her way): "Did you hear that?"
Her: (with a bit of sadness in her voice) "Yea"
Never came up again.
BUWAHHAHAHAHHAA. That felt good!!!

It is strange to me to think that everyone is bashing the car for its looks. The GTO is a beast, are you guys only interested in looking good in your car, or do you want a car that is a true performer?
