Default evo owner looking to get 350z

hey there,
I am considering in getting a 350Z and getting rid of my Evo. It mainly has to do with reliability issues ie. Trannie problems, fit and finish, sqeaks and rattles and so on. I beleive that I am driving around on borrowed time. It is a 2003 with minor mods.
So who is going to sell me on a 350Z, it will be easy to sell I think.
thanks.....

as a former evolution owner myself, (2k4 evo 8, blue for you,) i've never been happier since i switched to the Z (2k3 Touring PPW). the Z has a more refine feel, smoother ride, and sexy styling. don't get me wrong, i loved the evo, but i love the Z even more. it also doesn't hurt when the ladies roll down their windows and say, "i like your car."

GET THE Z!!!!

I am getting a new one. The quote was "to sell me on one" not to sell me one. I appoligize for the confusion.

Rocco,
Depends on your needs. If having only a 2-seater (no backseats) and limited trunk space is fine with you, then switching to a Z should be no problem (I use my Z as a daily driver). If not, I would recommend a G35. Good choice on getting a brand new one; I'd recommend used (or even brand new) '05s as well. The Z is definitely an eye catcher on the streets. To the casual observer, it easily looks like a $40k+ car. Heck, I even had a cop ask me, "What do these run? $45k?" while writing me a ticket! Bear in mind though that the Z will not see anywhere near the gains an Evo would mod for mod.

I used to have a pretty heavily modified 04 Evo VIII. IT was definately fast, but there is nothing like the feel of a rwd 2 seater.

that pretty much sums it up...

I live in texas and we have one or two days with snow and ice a year, who needs AWD, when RWD is soo much more fun

Wow, I'm surprised about all the former evo owners on here.

While the 350z is a fun car to drive, if you're more interested in performance and can put up with the looks, I'd have to go with the evo. Change is good though.

Performance wise: Evo, the Z is a great car but Evo wins this round hands down.

But there are too many things that made me get the Z. get the Z haha

Good choice, Z's don't have any squeaks or rattles or fit/finish or tranny problems at all.

I like the Z overall because of the look, the sporty attitude, and feel of the car. I know the EVO does all performance-wise things better, but the Z just does it with style.

One thing I want to add is ... Don't get the Z to get rid of your reliability issues. I think the fit and finish on my $37k car sucks, as well as all the problems many are experiencing.

The only modfs that I have are turbo back, intake and suspension work (bolt-ons).

just get the base or the enthuziast for easily under 30. The fit and finish is much nicer than the evo and the quality has been real good on mine.. if you get an 06 you shouldn't have transmission problems.

you just listed all of the problems that i had with my 350z before getting an evo.

the z is not half as reliable as you might think. it has more than its fair share of defects.

I just traded my 03 Evo VIII for an 06 PPW Touring Z and I couldn't be happier.

I loved my Evo but after driving the Z for about a week I reaised how cheap the Evo felt. It lacked alot of things leather, cruise, decent sound system.

All aound I think the Z is a more refined better looking better built car.

those are some of the same reasons for getting a Z. My main concern is reliability issues, that is #1 on the list. On the Evo the calipers have been changed on all corners. The service manager said that the problem will re-occur. Rear wing is delaminating. Just had some of my first trannie issues (more to come as I was told).
