I don't like accidentally turning off my headlights when engaging the turn signal. It's just too easy to roll the ****.

Oh, and the lack of a interior trunk release button.

In addition to the clutch problem I also don't like.

The fact that I can't afford a Nismo exhaust yet

Leather seat covers

Tires and wheels

a spoiler I really like

A gear shift **** that doesn't suck

But mostly just the clutch

I actually like it better back there. It gives the dash a cleaner look. Although it IS a bit of a pain when you have a passenger and have to reach back to get your insurance papers to show the cop who pulled you over for speeding when everyon else on the road is going as fast if not faster than you but you were pulled over and given a fine because YOUR car stands out more than the others on the road and then when you get back to Canada from your trip in the US you wait for a while before you pay your fine but NO ONE told you if you waited too long that it will INCREASE by another $54 . OK I'm done venting.

My trunk is useless. I have to press it three or four times to get it to open, or usually pull up at the same time. Once its up, the shocks aren't strong enough to hold it up. On top of that, Nissan wants almost $400 to fix it (shocks only). Yay, I can pay $400 every four years to have a working trunk.

Edit: Reaching for the seatbelt is also a gymnastic exercise.

The damn doors, I hit them with my foot when I get out.

The doors are so heavy they fall back on me constantly with the smallest incline

The trunk not popping enough in cold weather have to pull up

The squeaking breaks

Gas mileage - so far my Z only has about 500 miles on it, and my average gas mileage seems to be around 17.5 mpg.
I dream of the day when I could get 17.5 mpg! I drive four miles to work and hit at least half of the 20 lights coming and going. I average under 13 mph ... My '06 Xterra gets about the same - 12.5 mpg on average.

i'm not that thrilled with the gearbox being as notchy as it is. Sometimes the only way to shift really fast is to be flat out forceful and hope it stands up to it

I wish it had a flatter bottom under the car

wish it weighed less. A V6 car shouldn't be as heavy as the Z is

Wish it had a more heavy duty rear strutbar in the hatch. All it is is some thin sheet metal - if you're going to the trouble to do it, do it right

wish the weigh distribution was a little closer to 50/50

wish the engine was further back - yeah yeah it might be "front midship" but only because the majority of the engine sits behind the front axel, otherwise something like 40% of it is still in front of the axel

wish it had brake ducts - or at least for the track model.

I wish the track model was actually truely track worthy and came with an oil cooler, bigger power steering cooler, bigger baffled oil pan, and some actual halfway good "track-ish" tires, stiffer suspension - I mean those are all basic track things and all the track model really has is brakes and wheels and the aero package

and I wish dealers would treat the Z like a sport car instead of a sporty maxima - if you go to the track with a "track" model -gasp, that's just unheard of to a dealership. No one likes buying a fake "poser" car. If Nissan calls it a track model, damnit treat it like a track worthy car and don't void warrenties if you do a lot of redlining - oh I'm sorry "abuse"

Yeah, if they are the same in the US versions as the southern hemisphere version, with the power point/lighter almost behind the drivers seat and not one in the front so your radar detector cable has to reach miles. No very cool, bad design.

Also agree with another poster about their not being an internal boot release button, when probably a large degree of us have after market alarms/key fobs. It's a nuisance quite frequently. But then it's a superficial thing that doesn't really matter.

Presuming that Nissan US sent a customer comment thing out to new owners periodically did anyone else actually make constructive comments?? It's the only way something get the message across with our wishing list of improvements for future models.

I dont really care about little things, like the sound system or no glovebox

I just want less weight, and the VQ with forged internals ready for F/I

No turbo model like the 300ZX. The car would be a hell of a tuner if the VQ was built for turbo.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with a sore back after driving my Z. My lower back really starts to hurt if I have the seatback close to upright. I have to recline it all the way back to prevent my back from hurting which puts me out of position for any type of real performance driving.
