^^^ hah that's pretty funny.

Going from Z32 to Z33... the zed cars have gotten alot lighter.
But Nissan is screwing that up again with the entry of the 06 models.

People are just never happy and love to *****. Hence, repetitive threads like this.

BTW, I thought Corvette panels were made of fiberglass?

The '06 is put on a strictly soda pop diet from birth, this is what adds on the extra lbs. Doesn't everyone know that?

I agree...I have an '04 base (3188 lbs) which now has NISMO wheels, headers, cat back exhaust and fly wheel. I did the math a while ago and I think it came out at 2988 lbs including the removal of the rear wiper arm, wiper arm motor, lighter battery, spare wheel and jack. Porche make a great can that works welll enough to get you to a tire store if you get a flat....

werd, ....the chassic and various addons make a Z heavy. But i do love the CF driveshaft that was a great touch. God knows we need no more weight trans or driveshft wise. Could you imagine if the VQ was a cast iron block .YOu might as well walk lol

I supose my only question is how there is such a drastic difference in weight between the elise and the z...its got to be the manufacturing proccess as well as the materials. Weight also contributes to safety i'd imagine.
between the elise and the Z?? are you serious um they are TOTALY different cars.... elise is a toyota powered 4 banger, virtually no comfort or conviennce,
purpose build auto crosser, go look at and sit in one in person... id take Z anyday!

i read about a conversion kit to put a 5.0 ford v8 in a miata w/ 50/ 50 weight dist. THAT would be Fun! then put S/C or turbo ! youd need outriggers to keep it from flipping over from the Tq.

Indeed it is. Perhaps I should have made the comparison between the vette's weight im proportion to the Zs (but i think at that point its really material and fabrication cost that we end up compromising over). Either way the Z is still pretty stiff imo (but I have a 2003 with the bounce). If I wanted comfort and sportiness I might have considered the G coupe. Hum...nah...I still like the way the Z looks.

Wrong. Enzo is made of carbon fiber parts, please research before claiming 3200 lbs.

Real roadster's need to be two seaters, under 2500lbs, and have a soft top!!!!!!

Now a sport's car can be just about anything these days it seems.
