Default Rental 350z

I own a g35 but it has been in the shop for awhile so I rented a new 350z from Hertz. WOW!!! I really like this car and was surprised how much head room I had. I mean I like the features my g35 has but the 350z seems to handle better and is just plain a great car to drive too. Glad I got the experience.

I rented it a few weeks back, that's why I joined this board, doing more research on the 350Z.

Do you have the coupe or the sedan?

I've rented the G35 sedan the week after renting the 350z as well.

I have yet to drive the G35 coupe though, and I think I am buying one of those as a daily driver.

AT only. In the US I don't think you can find a MT in any regular rental places.

the g and z are both such great similar cars that offer their different pros and cons. i was in turmoil trying to decide wich car to buy. bought the z, but probably would have been just as happy with the g.

No regular, national brand rental agencies are going to have any manuals, unfortunately.

That place charges $179 / day for a manual 350Z.

Hertz charges $125 / day for an auto 350Z.

Tough choice. Thanks for the link.

I was at the Hertz in Miami at the Airport, once i got their i noticed a bunch of 350z's in all colors and they were all already reserved. I ended up with a 06 convertable mustang, which was pretty fun, but definatly no Z.

Im a car rental enthusiast!! lol Only because im a realist and know with my career and future goals, I will never be able to actually own an exotic car, so I rent once a year. Last year was the 04 Viper SRT10 in Houston. That was fun but a real brute. This year is a toss up between the Ferrari Modena and the Galardo. Not sure If I will have my rental piggy bank high enough for the galardo though. 1800$ much dinero. My friends and especialy my family tell me everyday how stupid I am for spending that much money on a one day rental, but for me, Cars are my passion, and I really dont mind throwing the money in the toilet for 24 hours of pure automobile sex. Heck yeah I act like its mine. I spent damn good money for the day, might as well lie to everyone who asks when Im parking it at a store or restaraunt. Its like my one day to live out a fantasy that will never happen to me in my lifetime. I live in a semi small town and not much for opppertunities to drive a nice car. I dont know anyone with an exotic so I have no choice. Like I stated before, I know its throwing money into a toilet, but hey, its my money and its left over money to blow. i save enough, single, no kids, make near 65g a year, I think I can afford to splurge on my passion once a year. Thanks for knocking me though, it helps keeps thread like this going. Cheers, BEN

lol i was just giving you a hard time, its your oney so yeah.. spend it as you wish.

rent a lambo one day, its worth the money just take it easy for a few hours so you feel the car out. they are not easy cars to drive( for the avarage driver)

living in miami helps me since i know a lot of people that own nice cars.

Deez, have you driven the gallardo? By reading others reviews on the internet and on this board, it seams the consensus was that the Galardo was really easy to drive. All wheel drive I think, paddle shifter in one model, etc. I was told the Viper I drove was one of the easiest to get you into trouble? I love horsepower and it does get addicting. Before I drove the Viper I thought to my self, why on earth would you need a Hennesy twin turbo on that already 500hp beast, well, after 30 miles in the Viper ripping up interstates, I felt my self wanting more ummph at say 75-130mph.

i drove a 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo SE(6 speed, AWD) and they are not bad, i give warnings because some people are not used to cars like that and i have seen some people crash cars like these because they push the car too much and they cant control it.

the Gallardo is a 520 horsepower V10 beast!.. i drove it and almost took it home that day....lol

hey dude, your story is kind of depressing....
hey why not take all that money you're spending on rentals and invest it? who says you'll never live the life you wanted? I believe in you!!!

Ben, I think that is very smart actually.

Most people who own exotics don't drive them very much. Then they still pay for insurance, maintenance, depreciation which go down the drain.

I think it's really smart to rent just once a year if that's all you plan on doing in driving an exotic.

I can tell you I spend around at least that much on maintenance, insurance on your once-a-day rental, but I do drive mine about once or twice a month.

You get the flexibility to try out a lot of different cars that you otherwise wouldn't be able to, and you don't get tied down to the hassles of maintenance and insurance.

Enjoy.
