Nissan is a rip off!!! NEED HELP!!!
Hey everyone, this is my first posting since I became a member. I have always used this site for guidence, now I need it more than ever. Check out this story...
I bought my 03 z Track edition with 21,000 miles in mArch of 2005. Believe me, Ilove the car... but, A week after buying the car, my trasmission went out. Nissan told me that there have been many issues with the trans on the 03 model, so they replaced my tranny, clutch and resurfaced my flywheel. I could not believe that that was even neccessary at such low mileage... anyway, later I learned that my z had previously had the trans assembly replaced by Nissan two months before I bought it. Even after replacing my parts, I still heard rattling noises fro the trans and tookit in to Nissan. Both times I did, they said that I was being paranoid. Now once again, my clutch blew out and I have only had the new trans, and clutch for about 10,000 miles. Nissan is not trying to take resposibilty for what has happened. My car has the extended warranty to 75k, and are trying to get me to pay for it. I DON"T UNDErSTAND??? This is the third time!!! Has anyone else had a similar problem??? I have contacted Corporate Nissan and filed a claim, as well as contacted lawyers that deal wit VA lemon laws. Please help me and give me some ideas on how I can resolve this? Am I entitled to a new Z? Or do I keep playing this game with a F*cked up trans with Nissan??????????

Sorry guys for the confusion, but I am actually in northern VA, don;t know why it says ALaska, need to fix... but basically, they are saying that I need to pay for all reapirs... that means the extended warranty is worthless.I got the extended warranty after they replaced my tranny, they gave it to me for free b/c i put a big fuss about them having to do such major work on a low mileage car... its obvious that they did it to just brush me side.... DAMN THEM!

Maybe it is you that's breaking your car? You blew the clutch out in 10K miles? What the hell are you doing to it?
No wonder they don't want to pay for it... It is the third tranny!
Is there another dealer you can take it to?

Well, guys, I spoke with my attorney, and I was told that my car does not qualify for a lemon law return, although, I have a case to get the repainrs done for free... but, the lawyer is going to cost as much as if I just get the reapirs done...? So, it looks like I am just going to get the clutch replaced, and hopefully nothing will happen. If it happens again, I will sell the Z... makes me sad, but that what makes sense. Thank you all for your feedback, I am now confused on what clutch to get. Definitely not getting oem!! What do you all recommend... I want a strong clutch and flywheel that will do better than what I had... any suggestions?

Just take it to another dealer. I'm sure there are 20 dealers in NoVa and one of them will fix it under warranty like they should...
However, I'm a little concerned with what you are doing to the car to blow trannies that quickly. 2,000 miles after the first, then 10,000 miles after the second?!? I heard of people blow trannies but not 3 in 12,000 miles?!?
When you say the clutch is blown, you do mean the car won't go into gear or move, correct? You don't just mean you "hear rattling noises from the tran". The Z has a particularly loud, grindy, rattly transmission. It doesn't necessarily mean something is broken....
Bought my Z with 19k and my tranny synchro for 3rd gear was shot at 30k miles and I got a new tranny and cluth installed, free, within 24 hours of me taking it in. I was told they used an 05 transmission since the 03s have known issues. I've had no issues since and I've put another 40k on the car.

The tranny seems to be working fine, they did put an 05 in it, but my clutch barely engages... when it does, it stalls out. When I simply just strat the car, it rattles and makes a loud winding and grinding noise, but just as i let the clutch go, it goes away, and just makes a load rattle noise... weird huh?
