i know this is a noob question but what do you guys mean when you say "revup" motor?

i know, but why they call it "REV UP."

 

Not a correction, but an addition:

The maximum rated torque output is 260 lb-ft.

 

It has a slightly higher redline so maybe that's why.

 

I believe they dubbed it 'Rev Up' because it has a higher redline that the 287 HP engine variant. The Rev Up engine goes to 7000 RPM, where the 287 HP version is limited to 6600 RPM or somewhere in that ballpark. I'm not sure, because I have the Rev Up model and didn't pay much attention to the specs on the original version.

 

all 2006 MT, auto's still come with the 287 version
