Default A few questions

Ok, so I'm new to the site. I'm excited about the 350z coming out. I am pretty happy with my car, and never thought I'd be wanting to sell it this soon! I have a 2002 Acura RSX Type S. It is a very nice car, indeed. Thing is, I wanted the RWD Sports Car in the beginning but none of them fit the bill for around 30,000 or less.

So I'll be trying to get around 20-22k for my car, as right now it only has 7,000 miles on it(had it for 6 months), also has an extended warranty.

Anyways, I was looking at the stats on each model, and was wanting the Enthusiast model, but it doesn't have the ability to turn off traction control? Traction control hurts the performance of a car, but helps safety, correct?

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Enthusiast, besides 2,000 dollars, and 17 inch vs 18 inch wheels?

Also how much do you figure title and registration fees will be? I live in Louisiana.

Thanks!

Between the Enthusiast and Performance. The base is nice, but I want the Xenon HID Lowbeams and the Limited Slip Diff. =)

Someone has made a chart of all the differences. If you search you should be able to find out. The major differences between the Base and the Enthusiast is the LSD, traction control and the HID low beams. Some people also really want the cruise control. Other than those four things, mostly cosmetic, aluminum petals, universal remote and oh yeah, I almost forgot..the NUMBER 1 DIFFERENCE: LIGHTS FOR THE VANITY MIRRORS. IMHO a sports car has to have the LSD -- especially with 287 horses, get the Enthusiast.

Edit: Sorry I forgot to answer your original question -- the Enthusiast will allow you to turn off the TCS. I believe, however, the default is on, so you will need to turn it off each time you start the car and want if off. Same wheels on the Base and Enthusiast BTW.

Thanks Robbyn,

I was getting worried that I was the only one in need of the Duel Illuminated Vanity Mirrors

Gotta look good doing 153 in the Z!

Was actually worrying about the difference between the Performance and Enthusiast, but if the Enthusiast allows you to turn off the traction control! Thumbs up! Also cruise control does make a big difference to me. I have a 2 hour and 45 min-3 hour drive when I want to come home from college, and there are about 7 or so Speed Trap towns on the way, I'm heavy footed, so cruise control helps. Also is nice when you want to relax on the open road where state troopers are =). It has saved me in my Acura a few times, I know I would have punched the gas and let my 2.0 Liter 4 cylinder Roar(note: Sarcasm, but it is pretty quick for what it is, excellent car, just not enough power for me, and not rwd) if I hadn't used the cruise control. Also where I live, there are a few cops in my hometown that will give me a ticket for going 1 mph over the speed limit, my history with them is less than pleasureable(is that a word?).

Thanks for the quick responses with the great answers! I'll do a search for that chart, thanks!

The Type S is a nice car. I actually was thinking of getting that a couple months ago. I have a 91 Legend right now and I was looking to stay in the family. However, when I saw the Z, my attention was redirected. Good thing I waited!

D Gears.. I weighed the pros and cons about the additional $$ above the Enthusi.. and realized for leather or larger tires or a sound system.. just not worth it.. YOU can always modify your Enthusi... later.. Add leather, etc..

Daytona Blue, Enthusi, 6 speed.. ordered 2/20

Same thing happened to me, was about to get Toyota Mr2 Spyder, and then noticed the 350z. Big difference with only little difference price!
