What's the best compliment you have gotten?
I get compliments on my Z fairly often, but my favorite is when a child says "that car is awesome" and gets really excited because I can recall doing the same damn thing
Also a buddy and I were cruising through Panama City on spring break and at least 5 chicks complimented my car, to which I responded I didn't buy it for compliments (as if I bought it to see ****) while my friend held beads out the window. 4 of the 5 girls flashed us.
BTW the entire time my friend was following us in his V6 mustang convertable getting jealous, no joke, lol

I remembered a couple more. One time a guy and his son who was about my age pull into a parking lot in a 20 yr old turbo diesel Mercedes. The guy says "thats a fine looking car"
I was sitting at a red light and I said "How you doin?" just as best I know how to a women in the passenger seat of the car next to me to **** off her boyfriend. Her bf leans over and says "Nice car"

I was out driving my car on Sunday to have dinner with my girlfriend at a place 5-10 miles from the house. On the way there I noticed I got some strange looks, and someone even honked at me, but I only smiled back and didn't think much of it. When I got there I walked inside and ordered dinner and sat for about 15 minutes, and then my alarm pager went off.
I went outside and took a look, thinking someone had parked next to me. Just then, I finally noticed that I had driven the entire way to the restaurant with the hood popped open on the safety latch with a huge crooked gap up front.
Dammit...

my first night driving my 03 enthusiast (like 2 months ago) I thought i was big ****, people were honking and trying to get my attention. I didnt think anything of it, and I was still super nervous about driving the new car. About halfway home, just about to the part of town were the road lighting wasnt the greatest, I noticed that my headlights were off. WHOA, good way for me to get dominated. I was so used to my 99' silverado's auto lights, that I didnt even think about turning them on. I feel like such a retard, but thought I'd share.
(not really a compliment, rofl)

This happened 3wks ago. We've had the car new since March.
We were leaving Emerald Point (a big water park in Greensboro, NC). I'm creeping through the parking lot when this man and his blond headed son (about 7 years old) get out of a black C5. The man is checking the car out, but he doesn't want to seem like he is. When we get right across from them the kid says "oooh daddy look a race car"--the man replied "that's not a race car" and the kid said "it is a race car look at it".
I have a heavily modded C5 too. I know that bothered him

story 1:
I was at the Autocross this weekend. Needless to say there were lots of sports cars and convertibles registered to race (Vettes, Stangs, S2K, EVO, ITRs, STi, M3, FI-Miatas, 911s). When I lined up and got my car registered for the 'grid' the lady asked me 'what is the year and make of your car?', I answered '350Z', and she replied, 'oh, nice' (in a surprised, refreshed sort of way).
story 2:
I was shopping for cheaper insurance than existinig Geico. He was in a flat, robotic voice as we took down my info, that is, until he asked me "and what is the year, make and model of your vehicle sir". The ho-hum voice miraculously transformed. He ended up chatting with me for an extra 10 min.
story 3:
My volleyball teamate, after I emailed a pic of my car, started emailing me a lot more frequently. Although she has a BF, she's been trying to set me up with her best friend on several occaisons. And lately she's been asking me to drive her to volleyball games instead of her BF.
Tthere are many more stories in addition to this. I had various people coming up to me to chat about my car:
-the lesbian Jeep owner in my apartment building
-the maintenance guy in my apartment building
-numerous people at the gas pump
-counter clerks at Autozone
-CEO of my company

Someone asking me if my car was a porsche would have to be the best one I have gotten...
That or when I first got it and went to a night club in Houston the valet parked it right up front with all the other awesome cars (porsche, amg benz, m3, etc)... my car was the only one under $50k in the entire row.

The best one I've gotten so far ... I was at a stop light with the top down and this kid (probably 8 or 9) was in the back of an SUV waving at me, trying to get me attention, for quite a while, but I didn't notice it until I glanced over because of the tints in the back. So I gave him a wave back and he did the "Tiger Woods pump" like he just won something.
Hi guys, i'm new at this, but i couldn't pass up leaving a post on this topic...true stuff!
I've had an "indecent proposal," once. I was leaving a night club at 2 in the morning and a car full of drunk chicks were riding around with their windows down.
Front passenger said "I'll @*%# you if you let me drive your car"
I said, "No %$*&@, you're too ugly"

I was on my lunch break the other day and stopped at a redlight. There are lots of tourists and pedestrian traffic in the part of Atlanta that I work. I notice this couple that has stopped at the opposite corner of the light im sitting at. I then notice the BF and the GF staring at my car. The guy then hits the girlfriend, then while pointing demands the camera. He proceeded to take pictures of my car while sitting at the redlight then driving down the road... all the time the girlfriend just stared him down in frustration.
Hilarious.
Hilarious.
A kid today about 3 years old was in his stroller pointing to my car and telling his mom, "lam-bo0o-giny". I thought it was cool compared to the people that walked by compelled to somewhat graze their hand over the Z
Got hit on by a Geriatric becasue she liked the car, she musta been 100. ok maybe not a geriatric....more like 50
when i first bought the car i got pulled over by a cop, he pulled me outa the car and just asked me about the car, gave me a handshake and congratulated me......

But probably the best compliment I got on mine was taking it to a track day at Limerock and being the only Z there, and passing Porsches and M roadster hardtops.
