Keep it under 5K for 1500 miles. At 1500 miles it needs and oil change and service then your FREE.......

Is the break-in period for the '06 longer than the other years? The recommended period for my '04 was only 1200. Get your manual and look in the index under break-in schedule. The manual tells you what to do.
For my '04 it also suggests:
Don't accelerate over 4000k rpm.
Don't maintain a constant speed; vary your speed.
Don't accelerate full throttle in any gear.
Avoid quick starts and hard braking.
To me, following the break-in period is common sense. Plenty of people will tell you that you can drive it like you stole it, right off the lot, but this goes against most peoples better judgement. The engineers who designed the car know whats up.

Yea..but its better to be certain than to be slightly off kilter with break in..lol, my buddy bought one of those Volvo S40's and decided breaking it in was something not for him. He's frequently done 100 in it, and it only has about 300 miles!
Haha! SUcks!
Wait to get a nice car then you have to wait some more to find out
just how nice it is. Yeah, I would break it in. Like the innocent virgin
says to her boyfriend... "it'll be worth the wait."
Then... SHIFT_bang!

The book says 1200, but you know the manufacturer wants you to play it beyond safe to save them warranty costs for the rare occasion it doesn't break right in. I kept it below 4.5k for 600 miles, below 5K until 700 (oil changed at 650), and incremented up from there. I'm just under 1000 miles atm and just drive it like it wants to be driven. All you want to do during break-in is seat the rings and clean out the engine, it doesn't take that long. It is important to baby it at first, varying rpm's, and get the dirty oil out early, but that's it. I did the same thing with my '03 Maxima (another VQ variant) and it ran like a champ for me.

lol.. i may have taken her to max plenty before 95miles was on her.....
