Can anyone tell me what is "orange peel"? I know that is a stupid question, as I have seen a TON of references to it on this forum. I have no idea what it is.

 

It's the appearance of the paint on your car. If you'll look at several cars these days, the finish on them (if you look very closely) resembles that of an orange peel. Kind of bumpy lookin', not totally smooth.

Most of the time it has to do with the finishing products, drying time, etc. when the car is painted in the factory. It's really not a big deal, unless you're expecting a 10k paint job.

Just personal prefernce.

I was actually wondering that same thing, until I caught my car at a certain angle and the paint looked like that of an orange peel. All of the sudden it was clear, doesn't bother me much though!

I found a TINY bit of it on the doors right under the windows, but it really doesn't bother me. Its so hard to see on CS. I'm sure that after I Blackfire the car, it'll be even less noticeable. Some cars have it kind of bad and many of those owners have gotten some resolution regarding it from Nissan. I'm not that much of a stickler, though. I'm really not bothered by the tiny bit I found. The rest of the car looks great. To be honest, most people don't realize that orange peel is undesirable. Most people have no idea that the paint shouldn't look like that...
