I love my touring and am not too worried about modding it out, and thus don't have to worry about continuous tuning or if it has mods on it when it gets to the dealership for repairs. I bought into the extended warranty, and plan to enjoy every minute of it.

No regrets on Touring over here.

-Most of us don't really use our car for tracking, this is my daily driver (in the summer.)
-I ain't buying a sexy car like this without getting leather seats
-I wanted the Nav kit so it would look bling when I installed the dvd player head unit.
-I've used my cruise control when visiting friends at cottages.
-And as you can see on my signiture, you don't have to buy base to do a lot of modding ;P

The only regret that I might have had was to not find a Touring with Brembo brakes, not for the performance since my car is a daily driver, but more for the bling factor. It's cheaper to get the factory Brembo then it is to buy and install an aftermarket >_<;;

No regrets with the Track model purchase. Got the 300hp motor in 2005, Brembo brakes, and the lightweight Rays rims. However, if I had a good chunk of money sitting around and wanted to build one from the ground up, I probably would go with a 2005 base and add everything (N/A parts, LSD, suspension, Nismo rims, etc.)

I'd get the touring again! I want leather and all the other extra stuff as it's my daily driver as well.

The Brembo's and lightweight Rays are probably a good thing, but if I had done my homework, I would have bought a BASE and modded. All that other stuff is pretty useless (maybe not the LSD, but better can be had).

I got the base model, and if i had to pick, i'd pick the base model all over again. Picked it up new, for less than 27k.with aero. pkg, now i have HID's, 19''s and most of the goodies that come on the touring.
Again, if you want all the goodies from the minute you drive off the lot without spending anytime getting your upgrades, then you better off getting a track or touring model, but IMHO, I just can't justify paying 7k + for the same car that looks/performs exactly the same as the base model z. Besides, I just enjoy working on my z with upgrades and all, and the fact the base model is the lightest of all, you just can't go wrong.

I think you will find most people are happy with their purchase and chose a certain model for a reason. I wouldn't change a thing - 04 Base model + Nismo LSD/Stoptechs and still a couple grand cheaper than the track model.

+1

I also kind of like the certainty of not having VDC or TCS.

Whether you put yourself in a ditch or not...you know it's your own damn fault!

If you ditch a VDC car, it's still pretty much your own damn fault, maybe even more so, because you have to try even harder.

I like the certainty of the VDC because I don't have to worry about silly screw ups, as much.

When I need a 5 sec 0-60, VDC_off

Only thing I regret in my touring is no Brembos, but I had to have the leather and little features that make the car luxurious. Keep in mind that these features keep the cars resale value higher where modding the car probably brings it down, just an important note for those of us who drive the Z everyday rather than for track/racing purposes. I'm straight with my few mods that set it apart from the other 50,000 Z's in central florida; exhaust, intake, grill and clear reffectors, 10 inch sub and dvd head unit on the way.

I'm happy w/ my Enthusiast, especially since I've had the stock seats replaced with 2-tone leather.

But every so often, I see a Roadster go by with the top down, and wonder if I should have gone for a ragtop.

For $25K nothing else comes close ......

What type of wing is that? Looks like the G35 wing?..
