Just little more help too make your decision easyer.
I guess you dont consider the Lotus Elise or Exige sports cars then either

Definitions:

1. a small low car with a high-powered engine; usually seats two persons
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

2. A sports car is type of automobile designed for sporting performance. While opinions differ as to the exact definition, most sports cars have two seats and two doors, and are designed to excel at a combination of acceleration, top speed, braking, and maneuverability. Great emphasis is often placed on handling—the ability of the car to remain in the control of the driver under challenging condition such as when the car's tires begin to lose their grip on corners.

3. An automobile equipped for racing, especially an aerodynamically shaped one-passenger or two-passenger vehicle having a low center of gravity and steering and suspension designed for precise control at high speeds.

4. a small low car with a high-powered engine; usually seats two persons.

Looks like the most common thing to be a sports car is that it has one or two seats. *shrug* almost all the difinition on the internet for a "sports" cars seem to have this central theme. Agree or disagree, it's there in writing.

Normally, definitions are written so that the most important aspect of the thing it describes is listed first...

Performance car comes first every where.
2 seater is farther down the list...

+1
The emphasis is on a car that performs.

From one of the above definitions.
"designed to excel at a combination of acceleration, top speed, braking, and maneuverability. Great emphasis is often placed on handling—the ability of the car to remain in the control of the driver under challenging condition such as when the car's tires begin to lose their grip on corners."

I would think the STi and Evo fall into this category.

I've developed a timeline for you -

Next year - Keep your car, take the "downpayment" money from mom and pops - go to Europe.

After high school - Finish college, now you may buy a new car.

Thank me.

Here is the deal... if you want torque go 350z. If you want better gas milage and reliability go honda. Both cars are almost exactly the same speed wise. Honda s2k loves to rev.
[/QUOTE]

I disagree on the speed. I have raced quite a few of them and I always pull. Always from a roll, though. Z is faster.

Those are not sports cars, they are sports sedans. But yes, quite useful in college to perform the smoking sessions with buddies and hot chicks and the windows fullt closed in capsule. I an s2k, can't do that!

I would choose the 350z, because this is a fukking 350z forum.

"I am thinking between purchasing 03 S2k and 04 350z, both will be used" -really??really?!!

Assuming behind the wheels is a professional race car driver.

stright line wise the Z will always be faster mod for mod, stock for stock, cornering the S2K is faster and on Circuit Course stock for stock, mod for mod the S2K will be faster.

Now here's the kicker, I doubt your average joe can appreciate the difference between the two cars speed or handling wise. You simply can't consistently drive both cars at the limit on the street. thats just a fact. So at the end, just pick the one you like, because it's really pointless to say which one performs better, when all you drive is street.

Again, this statement, check my previous post:

And according to: http://www.track-challenge.com/main_e.asp

The 350Z has a faster lap time then the S2000 at the Nurburgring track by 15 seconds.

So... what does that mean? I always hear people saying the s2000 is a corner beast... I can only conclude that the s2000 excels in go-kart like parkinglot autoX? While the 350Z excels at a real race track?
So, I assume Nurburgring is a circuit course? Again, I'll give the s2000 an advantage in an autox go-kart style course. But it would have to be a good driver since the local autoX that I go to, the s2000 gets eaten alive by a 350Z driver.

As much as I do like the S2000, and would consider it for purchase, I have yet to see an S2000 keep up with me on a road course. Just my $.02 I haven't personally driven an S2000 though so cannot say how much is attributed to driver vs the car. Maybe I'd be faster in an S2000, I honestly don't know.

I prefer the Z.

I have driven both vehicles. I have a Z and my brother has a S2000. Most of the reasons have been discussed in the posts before mines. BTW, the top view of a S2000 is the shape of a *****... so if that's what you wanna ride in, then by all means get the S2000.

I have both cars in my family. Nissan 350z is a little faster and more comfy than S2000. S2000 has better fuel economy and better gear box.
Love the s2000 9K RPM though.

18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear.
I am not that rich to own a ferrari. Black car in garage is S2000 and white car right behind it is M3

Round tail lights, side exhausts and something right in the middle that to me looked like a prancing horse.

Most modern Ferrari cars have 2 red circles on each side for taillights, and the exhaust is incorperated into the back bumper, not under the bumper. I was just curious what you saw to make you think it was a Ferrari. I guess it was the badge that looked like a prancing horse.
