I have both a 2003 350z and a 1993 RX-7tt. I love both of them. True the RX-7 does require a lot of maintaince and it can be costly. The engine at a max will last 120,000 miles. I put another engine recently in my RX-7 and it cost $4,000. The power and handling are awesome in the RX-7 and it draws more looks than my z car. I would advise you to get a 350z because it is newer, less costly to maintain and parts are readly available to do what you want with the car.

why is that? clean title, 60k miles on motor(full 13B t2 swap) , clean body, full coil over suspension, 5zigen typhoon 8"/9", duaul exhaust. and a bunch of other goodies. havent dyno'd the car yet so dont have any numbers...its at 9psi right now and i pulled on my cousins 02 mustang gt from a dig....A/C still blows cold air . interior is in great shape...i think thats a pretty good deal

Supra if you can find one with low miles that hasn't been modified but well maintained...

My buddy has two RX-7's... both are fun but too many problems.

I owned an 04 350Z Touring 6MT... loved it! Totalled it and got a G now.

I didn't read all of the comments but remember, Supra's price have increase ever since that import movie who's name shall not be spoken came up. You have to ask yourself if spending probably more money than a Z on a car that is at least 8-10 years old is worth it. Based on your criteria in your first post, I say no, but hey its your money.

The thing is is that they're so easy to mod and they become beasts with BPU's. If you can find an extremely clean one than thats awesome!

i have driven all 3 of these the rx-7 is a nice car but the upkeep is a bit-- but very fun to drive.
now the supra a sweet ride lots of power but the wheels do not like to stick to the ground.
the z of course is my fav sweet looks and sweet ride z is my choice

Totally agree! But just like the supra and FD..it needs boost! When I first test drove the Z I loved it but quicky found myself thinking it would be perfect with a few hundred more horsepower.

why are people comparing a REALLY clean MK4 TT to a Z. You will not find a really clean MK4 under 100,000 miles for under 40,000 unless it has already been modded which means who knows what shape the engine is in. I will admit htough i have always had a love for supras well before the movie but i just cant afford to maintain one properly not to mention the BPU parts are not cheap...a nice mk4 tt is going to be my graduation present to myself

That goes true for a LOT of cars of that gen..its to the point where no matter what you own, you need to buy that clean one bc it may be the only one you ever see. period.

IMO the SUPRA AND THE RX7 are dope cars but they are ancient history unless you just want a toy car to mess around with and spend money adn take to track/street . Unless I am finacially well off and i mean super WELL I wouldn't buy those to cars. The supra as mentioned will cost you big $$$$$$$$. and the RX7 too and they are both old as8s cars that not many people know what they are ( I am not talking about car people here). SO I think Z is the one.

I just went through the same dilemna, Supra, RX7, or the 350Z. I also contemplated an older 300ZX. If you find a super nice RX7 or 300, the prices are rediculious. I found a pristine 300 and RX7, but they wanted $20K plus for them!!! So I spent $23K and bought an '04 350. Still have a year of warranty left and the dependability is better than buying a 10 year old car.

However, those old RX7's and 300's are SHARP!!!!

he's a car collector of some sort...he bought a Ferrari 360 a few months before he sold his Supra

Your boss's friend is dumb. Why would anyone buy a car, never drive it, and then sell it 10 years later for the same price that they bought it for????

Car collector guys are just like that. Seems strange but the more I mod my FD the less I drive it, but on the otherhand I drive my Z all the time
