Good for you Z&Jet-Pilot! I'm glad to see you put this information to use. I hope it works to your advantage.

But having said that, I just want to re-iterate some other information that has been shared in this forum. We've been told (ZISME) that while Nissan tried to provide packet numbers that related to order dates, there were some discrepancies. ZISME appeared to be stating that if a packet number seems out of whack with the rest of the pre-orders, is does not necessarily reflect a delay in processing by your dealer, but could be a data sorting issue that happened at Nissan, and in no way affects the production schedule for your order.

But having said that (deja vue), we have heard from other members who have stated that their dealer definetly entered their order late, and likewise, they received a packet number related to the later enter date.

Bottom line: An out of sequence packet number could be a result of a dealer mistake, or a Nissan data entry error. And we still do not know if either if these cases result in a delay in when we will receive our cars. I guess we will only know for sure when we add another column to the data "Car Received Date".

While I have posted this as a reply to yours, it's more of a recap of information posted elsewhere, for the benefit of anyone who hasn't seen it before.

Preordered 6/8/02. Packet number is 6727. It was received on 7/2/02. Confirmation was received the week prior.

 

i preordered mine on early feb. i think... and the packet number is 2515.

 

Well folks, now that the tabulating has been done, the winner is bgerber911 with a packet # of 90. OK, now that I've come back to reality, I still want to believe, are you hearing this Nissan, that being the lowest packet #, my car shall be delivered 1st.

Now how's that for wisful thinking. Just trying to amuse myself during this time of stress waiting for MY Z TO ARRIVE!!!

 

So, when can we see this list sorted by order date, packet number, and state ? How about adding color to this list and sorting by color so we can see if they are doing some colors first ? How about model and options ? And definitely what you have been told your delivery date is.

There is a web site somewhere that had all this info from people and sorted it all different ways. Maybe we need to add the packet numer to it. Or, maybe we need to have a new poll of all this info to be correlated.


Really what we need is to have our cars so we would not be doind sutff like this.

Tom, I think your dealer sat on your preorder for a little while. I ordered on March 21st and I'm one number behind you at 3271.

Pre-ordered on 8 June 02, dealer faxed it to Nissan while I was standing there, no packed received yet, Maryland, Brickyard Touring.....

 

But the other one has the KEYS TO YOUR NEW 350Z IF YOU CALL THIS TOLL-FREE NUMBER BEFORE JULY 5TH... oh, never mind.
