Sandman: You seem to be getting things out of order. You sure your car isn't already parked outside?

I bet you get your black envelope tomorrow, and I don't think you need to worry even if you don't.....at least for a week or so. You are obviously in the Nissan database to get your special package.

Default Yeah i know right?

Yeah wierd isn't it? Getting my packet first without the confirmation. Kinda like the placing the buggy in front of the horse. Its always like that for me though. I get things from Nissan pretty late. Like those playing cards. I got them like a month after everyone else. Oh well, at least Nissan knows I am alive, or I wouldn't be getting the Package.
Peace,
James

If you haven't been able to get an order number and scheduled delivery date from your dealer, NNA is advising people to call 1-800-nissan1. People who have ordered in June have been able to get this information, either from their dealers, NNA, or this phone number. I'll be calling on Monday myself, since I haven't rec'd an order number either. Keep us posted!

We've been told (ZISME) that while Nissan tried to provide packet numbers that related to order dates, there were some discrepancies. ZISME appeared to be stating that if a packet number seems out of whack with the rest of the pre-orders, is does not necessarily reflect a delay in processing by your dealer, but could be a data sorting issue that happened at Nissan, and in no way affects the production schedule for your order.
According to our good friends at NNA, this number is simply a sequential number from 1-10000 that was given out in order. There is supposedly no correlation between this packet number and order numbers. In other words, if your number was 7000, it doesn' t necessarily mean you have the 7000'th Z made.

Regardless, it is cool, and is to be cherished... forever!

Am I in error?

I think you got it right. Those packets numbers were the first of any type of sequential info we got from NNA. We compared, evaluated, and basically decided that while they tend to correlate to when you ordered, they do not have anything to do with delivery.

Order/Tracking numbers were our next bit of info to evaluate. These offered a little more substance, but not definitive. While an R or S number didn't gaurantee an early spot on a boat, we haven't (as of yet) seen a VIN for a T, U, or W.

Packet 5059
Ordered 2/2/02

I'm way out there. Maybe my dealer faxed me in late or something.
