I know I'm not alone when I say its probably not the best idea to get a high power, high torque, RWD car as your first ride. Get a beater for a few years, get some experience under your belt, then get the 350ZX in a few years

I'm 17, senior in high school and I just got my base 350z...This car has a lot of power, but as long as you take it easy on the corners I think you would be fine(especially for base owners that dont have tcs/vdc) But ya, it being a high power RWD car does make it more dangerous, but as long as you know your limits and you dont do anything stupid you'll be fine.
Before, I was really worried about getting a Base because it doesn't have tcs or vdc but Its fun spinning your tires and swinging your back out every once and a while.

One thing to be aware of in the Z, and any sports car for that matter, is that it won't FEEL like you are going fast, even when you really ARE going fast.
Therefore, if you do come across an unexpected situation, and get out of control, you may be more likely to have a more serious crash due to the higher (not necessarily exessive) speeds.
If you do get the Z, just be careful and be very aware of your surroundings. You may want to practice car control in parking lots and take high performance drivers training classes if you have the chance. Because even though you say you will drive slow, the Z makes it really difficult to do that. I sure have a hard time staying slow....
Good luck, and enjoy whatever car you end up with.

i'm a senior (18) and I own a base 350z and I drove a pos car for 2 years before I got the z; the car is amazing and you won't regret getting it; Just save your temptations for high speed at a track or something because there is going to be alot of self control with a car like this
