sell it...it's just a car. You're too young to be tied down with car payments and high insurance rates. Give it about 6 years when your insurance rates cool down, you have some money in the bank and a new car on the horizon.

Its called car poor. Very common when anyone borrows money to buy a car. You have to decide which is more important: a cool car or spending money.

I am in the same boat as you..but I just lost my job and I am only 21 so money is so tight lucky I live at home so that helped me out. I decided to go back to school full time and get a part time job but I have no money at all I love my 05 Z but I have to think of the future. Also I have speeding tickets and my insurance is going to kill me more. Its going to be so hard to give her up but I guess in the future when I am settled with my career I can get a Z or even get the GT-R so your not alone rAwBz33

Be glad you can afford a Z at all. At your guys age, a two seater for me gave insurance over triple of what other cars were for me. I actually bought a Z and when I found out the insurance cost took it back in the early 90's. I had owned N/A Z's before that. That Turbo killed in insurance back then.
So, I went with muscle cars for most of my early years.

In my mid 20's - I started to get into Z's heavy and for the past 20 years it's been a blast. At 25 the insurance rate drops ... marriage helps too.

The Z's have been my commuter cars for about 18 years now. Good mileage, reliable and quick. I'm on my sixth Z and like 10th Nissan now. I wouldn't change a thing.
I learned how to drive in a muscle car then moved to the two-seater later.

It's all good you just have to adjust.

Here's what I could afford new at 22:

I think I paid $11K out the door - Made $11 an hour ($23K a year) @ SONY as a Purchasing Agent.
That was good money back then !!!

Advice? Yeah, here's some:

DON'T BUY THINGS YOU CAN'T AFFORD.

Houses, retirement funds, and savings are investments. Depreciating assets (like cars) aren't.

here's some food for thought..."the best advice is what you already know"

Wish you the best of luck.
