Default The Protector?

Black Touring with every option. Paid sticker at $35.5k. They are pushing the Protector program at the dealer (rustproofing, interior and wet sand and clearcoat for exterior). Price was $995 and the are ok to go at $750 for me (paid in advance). I'm kinda irritated they won't go to $600 as the finance manager told me on the sly. What do you guys think? Anyone heard of this program? Thanks.

Given today's more effective anti-corrosion treatments applied at the factory, undercoating is redundant. I also doubt their "clear coat protection" will be much better than keeping your car clean and waxed.

Don't get it. Save your money. Your new Z has plenty of protection like it is. At most you could spring for a clear bra later. Additional rustproofing could even make your car rust earlier by plugging drain holes. Your car already has clearcoat finish. Just take care of what you already have and save your money. This type of stuff is almost all clear profit for the dealers.

yeah the dealer offered a similar option.. They called it Touch of Class. My dad bought it for the Lexus LS430 before.. and he told me it was a piece of crap. But being the stubborn person that i am.. i still got it for the Z. Waste of money. Better off polishing/waxing your car and cleaning it once in a while IMO. BTW.. he hooked it up for $475.. orginally $600

I got it. Alright save the comments Dont bother getting it. They bill it as an insurance program, but the company ECP (if yours is the same) sucks. They arent returning my emails and they ask for all kinds of proof when you send in a claim: picture, detailed bill from a body shop etc. Just buy good wax and sealants after the sale.

All of these "protection packages" are an absolute ripoff and simply pad the dealer's profit margin.
