after about a year of this kind of stuff i got rid of my Z......i had a modded black 2003 z....and every monkey with a civic or mustang or whatever SUV....would try to get my attention ..it was horrible..every light i stopped at in North Carolina some bubba would pull up and rev and speed off...i would let them go... but the sad thing is if a cop saw me next to someone doing that i would get the ticket for having the sports car.......an idiot actually tried to run me off the road at one time because i refused to race him.....that was the last straw ....the next day i traded the z for a pick up truck.....noone ever bothered me again 
.....i loved my z ....but my saftey was more important in the end.

Most of the people that mess with me are the teenagers that thinks that their riced out hondas are the fastest cars on the road. The older rich guys with porsches, ferraris, and other Zs just say "nice car" or just say hi. Chicks look at my car and they usually wink or wave back when i wave. And yes like what r26 said people here in Hawaii drive like how you described but still I would not trade in a Z cuz of that.

For some odd reason, these guys seem to believe that slapping a Flowmaster exhaust on a 150, 250 or 350 will instantly convert their trucks into ZO6's. I just laugh, blast The Clash or The Jam on my stereo and completely ignore them.
I'm (personally) not into street racing but I always enjoy a hearty (guttural)belly laugh.
