Z price dive?
What do you all think will happen to the prices of used Z's when the GT-R comes out? What about the prices of mods? If GT-R specs are what everyone is expecting/hoping, it may become a harder sell for say a $10k (install, tune, etc) when the GT-R becomes an option

Actually the price should skyrocket the day after FF3 debuts, I think I'll park my car front row opening nite with FOR SALE attached. I'll ask way more than I should, who knows?

Because a car is large investment for most and I like to have the option of moving to a different vehicle with a minimum ammout of loss. I also do not like the fact that if the vehicle is destroyed I will most likley only get the "Book Value" of the car versus what I Owe, Making it a very important issue for many people.

I would NEVER consider a vehicle an investment. An investment is supposed to give returns and gains as it gets older; a vehicle never does that. It depreciates from the first day you get it. The only way to slow that down is to not use it... how is that enjoyable?
What you owe and what the vehicle is worth are two different things, thats why they go by book value. If you put 50k miles on the car but still owe $25k on it, how is that far to say because you OWE $25k on it thats what you should get back?
Just my 02.

i have decided that if i am going to sell the Z, the time is going to be right after FF3 comes out.... especially in this area where the high school graduates get BMWs and Lexuses for graduation presents, who knows..... maybe they'll want something that would be easier to rice out... the problem is, is if i ever saw my car driving around riced out, i'd probably cry (and then beat the owner w/ a lead pipe).....

then don't sell it, park it and 10 years from now you could trade it in on a brand new one.....I agree with the whole minimal loss on investment, but must admit I think a Z is more than just an "investment"...the heritage and lineage of this vehicle will always make them valuable if kept in good condition, I am restoring an 86 and was offered 4500.00 and it is in pieces....enjoy your vehicle, and if and when you plan on selling it get what you are asking and don't back off.....rememeber, it's a Z.....

I bought the Car to Drive. Love it. Mind you I didn't take it in for a trade, just looked it up on KBB.
I think every dealler will tell you something different to try to get your car away from you for the least ammount of money.
The only way to get a fair shake is to print sheets from KBB, NADA and Your State's Black Book when you go in to trade.
