They just have an inventory shhet that says some cars could possibly arrive in august and some in september..go figure. Now I will try to see when boats may arrive in seattle/tacoma area..just killing time and waiting......I had to wait 4 months for a car once, never 8-9 months ..oh well, I know I will love it when it gets here, just have to remember my pillow so I can drive her home.

All ports have trans-ship facilities east.
The closest is the best outside of Southern California/ Arizona.
Initial cars may come from the west...but the next batches will be arriving from all over the place.
Don't forget the Panama Canal. Boy it is hot here compared to Buenos Aires!

I am just watching the ships go through the 'canal' on their way east or west.
If I make it too easy, where is the fun?
Besides, the majority of posts do offer good information, No?
Picture with older Z gent verifies production.
USA gets the lions share in the early days.
Keep good communications with your sales person. (non-gender specific).
If not, the squeaky wheel will get you the goods.
Phone, Fax, E.mail all work for me.
Many will get it in one, some a little longer.
What is the conversion for 35C?

I wonder what the reference to the coupe is -- if that is what 35C is referring to?

RxO,
Thanks for the info...
My initial thought about the, "some will get it in one" meant that some dealers will get all of there preorders in one shot...in other words, 15 will show up at once...their whole first allotment at once?
Upon rereading...it does seem like he means August.
Ah, who knows....and yes, I am having fun guessing RxO...I think?!?

i'm not sure if this will help anyone but i worked for a freight forwarder for a couple of years.
the major west coast ports are seattle/tacoma, l.a., san diego, and san francisco. i have no clue how nissan intends to get the cars across country. however, most containers headed to the midwest are unloaded from their vessels and put on the bnsf or u.p. railways. from seattle and l.a., there are direct rail routes to global II in chicago (rail hub). the containers are unloaded and put on trucks at global II (roughly interstate 290 and manheim road).
the freight is booked on ocean vessels and rail weeks in advance. it will take 1-1.5 weeks from seattle or l.a. to chicago by rail. now, if you know what containers have the cars, there is a toll-free tracking phone number that will tell you where the container is during its trip by entering its number found on the back (abcd 123456 format).
there are gulf of mexico ports, however, only certain vessels can make the panama canal. my best guess is they will arrive in the west and be shipped via rail.

I was told by the regional NNA rep for my region that my car would come in via rail from Seattle. This seems to be the case, at least for the first shipments. Of course, things could have changed. This conversation took place in April at the Houston event.

I like Los Angeles as well.
The ships just keep going through the canal day and night.
Try "regional" contacts.
Who will be there for the ships to unload?
Who will be there for the drive aways.
Who will share the wealth...of knowledge?
35C is 95F Must be closer to 40!
(and the humidity)

Sounds like more confirmation of the rumored strike at the west coast ports. That will royally suck.
