i'm 25 with USAA, rates are awesome - they only went down since i got the z. i've had them since i was 16. i went from a prelude to the z about a year and half ago, at the time the increase was about 10 bucks a month, it has gone down since then. i also have my home insured with them among other valuable items... no problems ever - but in fairness to this thread i've never shopped around either... i could be getting screwed!

for me in the z - when i turned 25 - USAA saved me a considerable amount.

I have a feeling USAA sticks it to people under 25 based on how much everyone I know (all over 25) loves them... I guess all those crazy 18-24 year olds in the military get in a bunch of wrecks.

That's because all the dumba$$ teens wreck them and get pulled over.

I am well over 25 and my rates went up this past month. I have a feeling that the why they get you is the first 6 months are cheap and then they inch their way past the other companys. They relie on you not wanting the shop around and feeling loyal. I have been with them on and off for the last 10 years and there is a reason why I never stay with them. After a year or two they are no longer cheap....

I've been with them for more than 25 years, and never have I had a year-to-year increase on the same car.

Maybe I should check around, but from what I've heard anecdotally from friends and neighbors, I'm getting a good price from them.

I shopped around quite a bit when I got my insurance on my Z. No one even came close to Geico. I pay 167./mo. for full coverage on the 06 Z and my wifes new Saturn. I'm 23.

My premium is pretty high with USAA, but they are usually lower than others. I'm fix'n to leave Texas for Florida, so hopefully it will be an improvement. Tokyo Drift prolly will screw us.

I paid 106$ a month with USAA for my Z, all coverage and a real high liabililty and property limit. I was over 25, no wrecks and only acouple tickets. Been with USAA for my entire life. I like the dividend checks I get back from my insurance every year. Ranges from 60-90$ a year. I dont know why they send these checks but they sure cash nicely.

Mine has gone down every renewal with USAA, switched to them two years ago because they were cheaper than Progressive. I was 23 when I signed up with them, now I'm 25.
You get the checks because they are a mutual insurance company, which means you get a dividend on the profit they made that year.

The Insurance Industry ratings before Fast and the Stupidest 3: 23

The Insurance Industry ratings after Fast and the Stupidest 3: 40

Please don't buy your 16 year old a Z.

I pay $960/ 6 months with USAA. But thats now that I'm stationed in CT. When I was in Florida it was like $1600. But thats for an Expedition/BMW 3 series/ and my Z. But I shopped around and the CT price's ranged from $1600 to $2000. After the third company I said forget it. I'm convinced that I'm better off with USAA.

I agree with this also. When I was 21 I looked into USAA because my squad leader told me about them. At that time they were asking a lot more than the company I had at the time. It was either Geico or Progressive. So yeah. I think they are a little biased towards the younger drivers.

I am using Progressive, was paying $749/ 6 months, but it is is going up to $949/6 months since I got a divorce. USAA quoted me like 1400-1500 every 6 months, I was like, um no thanks.
