Black is more timeless. It will also absorb more UV rays from the sun increasing the temperature inside the vehicle. If you want to be different, at least were I live, go with the blue. I very rarely see them.

There is a post on the stats of Z's sold in quantity vs. color. Nothing to do with subject, I just thought it might add info.

I just remember the old Hyunda commercials. The sales lady liked the blue one.

Just admit it people...

Nothing can't beat a cleaned/waxed BLACK car PERIOD.
When it's dirty......oh well, I guess you can be the best color until the black car get washed and push you away to take the top spot again.

Soooo True.

SB is totally the color to got with. Its classy and stands out at the same time. I was in the same situation about a year ago when I was about to buy a Z. Blue or Black. Well here is something that'll help you decide between the two. I went to a dealership and saw a blue z....looked good....then a I saw a Black Z with the burnt orange seats....one word....F**kin GOODLY
There was no question about what I was getting. SB looks gorgeous with the Burnt orange interior ( matches all the interior lights also ). Do yourself a favor and get a SB w/ burnt orange seats. You wont have any regrets.

If you buy black, you may want to think about purchasing an orbital buffer or making friends withi someone who has one. I put swirly marks on my SB trying to wipe of some bird$hit and nearly fainted. A neighborhood detailer told me he could get this out with a few turns of a buffer, and I didn't believe him. $20 bucks and 15 minutes later my paint looked factory new. Taking care of a black car is definitely a learning experience, but worth every penny if you love your car...just my

Almost everyone who see's a clean Daytona Blue Z just says....wow....so I think I chose the right color. I think black just blends in with the crowd. At my dealerI was able to see ... red, blue, silverstone, white, liquid silver, in person at the same time and the DB just stood out. The black had pollen all over it and so did the others but you couldn't see it on any other color. So you will be a slave to your Z washing it EVERYDAY, I suggest you find a very good laser no-touch wash and get used to it........jmo

just one swipe of California duster and ta-da!
Even black is hard to maintain, there is no need to wash it everyday.

I own a 2006 Daytona Blu Z... I had the same problem... Only I was stuck on a lot more colors than just two... Each color has their pros and cons..

Pro~Daytona Blu ~ Stands out in a crowd... Looks really really nice IMO
Pro~ Black ~ Looks extremely clean...
Con~ Daytona Blu ~ stands out in a crowd... which could be a really bad thing depending on how you look at it... It gets dirty pretty easily....
Con~ Black ~ dust really shows up... Also... Personally I don't think black is a good color for a Z... too much black if you know what I'm talking about...

Both Colors looks hella sick at night... But either one you choose you really can't go wrong with a Z... All of this is In My Opinion

So many opinions but such a hard choice. Blue stands out but black looks good on the car...oh well...

Ive owned 5 black cars prior to my daytona blue and i love this color. Black would again be my first choice but seeing the time to maintain its shine and Nissans thin paint id go for blue.

I recently bought a Magnetic Black Z and while I understand people's sentiments regarding the neverending labor to keep it clean, it ultimately comes down to how clean do you personally really need to keep it? Does it need to look consistently clean from 20 feet away, 5 feet away, or point blank? One thing I have noticed is that even when there is a fine coat of dust on my car, it still looks great as long as you're not right up on it. Also, in my opinion the black color really helps to set off some of the Z's curves and body features.

Also have you researched that Zaino Brothers wax system? I have not purchased or used it yet, but I hear that after you put enough coats of it on your car, you can basically just rinse off dirt/pollen/etc. because it won't want to stick to the wax, and the wax won't easily wash off. So maybe that would be an incentive to get a black one, if you want to put that much work into it once a season.
