Default Help me decide my 350Z

Hi Guys,
I am planning to get a used 2003 Nissan 350Z (Silver Alloy, Manual)Touring model with 28K miles on it from carmax( No Haggle) and they are quoting like $22,998 on it. Do you guys think that this is good deal as i have already paid like $150(Transferrable fee) and its on its way from Carmax in Kansas city to Memphis, TN location. After doing a background check(car history) at autocheck.com at carmax everything cameout to be good(interiors, exteriors, tyres etc..) So can i beleive them?? is carmax a reliable source?? And i was also planning to take extended waranty (6yrs/60K) for another $1500 for the same car. Do you suggest that??

At the same time i saw this ad online (private seller)who is selling his 2004 Nissan 350Z (silver Alloy, Manual) Touring model with only 20K miles on it for almost the same price $23,800 ( he might come down to $23,000) I even asked him why he was selling his car then his reply was they were building a new house and they wanted to buy a tractor by selling this car.( I am going to test drive it today or may be tommorow) he also said that his wife used to drive his 350Z but not him.

I need all your guys feedback of what should i take into consideration to decide the right car. Do u want to wait until i test drive both the cars.

Any help is appreciated.
(Note: carmax :2003 model, private seller :2004 model)

I only hear good things about Carmax. From what I have heard and been told, Carmax is the best used car seller there is. They detail every part of the car (not just wash it) and would not sell it if anything was even slightly wrong with it. I would go through them to be absolutely sure you are getting the best deal and the best car. It is always a risk when buying from a private owner.

I like CarMax no haggle pricing. CarMax is also selective about what cars they keep (for resale) and what cars they dispose of at auctions.

Sounds like a good enough deal on the '03 and Carmax checks out their cars pretty well. The '04 is obviously the better deal, though. See if he'll let you take it to a mechanic or dealership for a once-over, run a Carfax on it and if it's all good, I'd say go with the newer car.

BTW, in '03-'05 the color was Chrome Silver. Silver Alloy replaced it in '06 and is a bit brighter silver, almost like the Liquid Aluminum premium color offered in '04.

Default Update from my side

Just called up the private owner to know whether the car was still there... He sold it for $23,000. So i have only one option left now.... i.e ********************************************CARMAX********** ********************************.
