Default 350Zs autoXing at Candlestick Park

What a gorgeous Febuary day for an autoX. I headed down to candlestick with my buddy Jeff who was racing his new BMW M3 SMG(the best part is mixing it up with all the other guys on the freeway heading down there) The first 350Z we saw belonged to this fellow Dave, this is also his sons cherry 510. Father son togetherness like this gets me all warm and misty

Ray and Dolphin were both next to each other in line, heres Rays touring brick w/Invisiguard installed, that should shave a couple seconds off his time

wouldnt be a race without a couple Minis, always a crowd pleaser. Guys that think big, fast, sports cars get attention from girls should see what happens when a Mini pulls up, they always want to go for a ride in one

Enough talk, lets race. Redline was the first out, which would be his best at 66.8 seconds.

This guy Kevin came out of nowhere and dropped the bomb in his DB touring. By his third lap he had run a best time of 63.4sec. To put that in perspective, the fastest cars in this group were modified S2000s with race tires(good for 5 seconds alone on a track this big) and Kevin was faster than half of them bone stock with skinny 17in bridgestones! nice!

By the last lap Dolphin had posted a 66.9sec run and Ray had a 66.69 second run, this is a margin that we would classify scientificaly as smaller than an ants fart. But since close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades, Ray gets bragging rights

M3 you say? His best time was a 60.1 he placed 3rd in his group, fast time of the day was a full race E36 M3 with a supercharger that came in a trailer 58.01 FAST Jeff was beat out by a crazy S2000, and an even crazier MIATA what can I say, those things are just born to autocross.

These things were the OFFICIAL DRIFT KINGS of the autoX, by the end of the day they had quite a fan section cheering for their arm-flailing, sideways antics.
