not that im aware of. It just saves u a lot of weight. It is probably the best way to lose the weight of the car that i could think of

Weight is directly related to acceleration. There would definatly be a measurable (albeit Very Small) increase in acceleration. By changing this battery you will have shed around 1% of the vehicles overall weight...

Who has the "Lightest" z? Don't some of the race cars weigh in around 2,000lbs?

I don't know why people are bashing this. This battery is great for those of us who don't care about high-powered stereos and the like. We lose weight in the mid-section of the car. This will help with handling because the CG (center of gravity) will be lower as well as the small increase in acceleration. Not to mention we don't have to deal with re-locating the battery to the rear which for us daily drivers is cumbersome to say the least.

I need a battery so I am considering this.
I do have a HU/AMP/Sub and an aftermarket NAV. Anyone know if this battery will work for me?

As a new "Z" owner, I started poking around under hood, and it looks like a real PITA to change out the stock battery! Do you need a special tool to remove all the plastic framing surrounding the battery box? (or around the brake fluid box for that matter?)

That Braille battery looks like it just drops in! Very nice!

Thanks for your thread, se-r / gti-r

You can buy 13lb battery's for $100 shipped, I think Ill save the $75-85 and go with a slightly heavier than Braille yet much lighter battery than stock

The Battery only comes in to play if you run these electronics with the car OFF. as in not running. When the car is Running, the Altenator is powering everything.

Actually this isn't entirely true. Your battery will make run the electronics in the car when the alternator can't keep up. Try jump starting your car without the barttery in it, disconnect the cables and then turn up your stereo(aftermarket w/amp) or switch on the AC. Your car will probably stall. Long story short, your battery works in conjuntion with the alternator while the car is running.

thanks, yeah I have been looking around. The Odyssey PC680 is the other choice for low weight. Summit has it for $90 (+ $12 for terminals) + $10 for their "handling charge"

I'm on the fence, the CCA's on all of these low weight batteries is pretty poor. Not sure whether to do it or just get a Red Top 34R at this point.

FYI: here is some good info for anyone looking for a battery: http://www.stealth316.com/2-dynabatt.htm#intro
