Top Speed?
Whats the fastest you have gotten your Z to?
my freind tells me that fords have a govenor what ever that means?
do Z's have them too? sooo post your fastest speed,, please no BS!!!!!
Is there any places that you can legally check this out in Cali?
ps the fastest I have gotten mine was maybe 102 or soo thats was following someone at work

'04 base model with aero-kit - 159mph
It's definitely elec. limited. I've maintined 159 up and down grades. No slowing down or speeding up, just a constant 159mph. That's more like 156 in reality. (speedos are always a little generous). The Z has a bit left, and with an ecu flash to remove the limiter I wouldn't be surprised if it could reach the speed rating of the tires (168mph actual).

The limited top speed is 156 and the actual top speed is no more than 168. The reason I say 168 is because of the tire ratings. The fastest I have ever driven legally is 143 on the German Autobahn thirteen years ago. I was in a BMW.

I haven't taken the Z nowhere near it's limit (hmmm... top speed limiter is removed, ZR tires) since there is no stretch of good quality road long enough here. Regulary do 130-135's though...
