Default grrr.... Got rear ended today. pics inside

So I am driving to work today in traffic minding my own business listening to Fox news on XM and all of a sudden, I feel this huge thud. I look in my mirror and there is this commercial enterprise truck that just hit me.

So we go through the motions pull over and of course I am pissed because I just got my car back the day before from having the fuel hose recall done and having my Eibach pro-kit installed not to mention its my z.

Anyway, no one was hurt except my car and I dont think its to bad. Here are some pics I shot with my phone. What do you think? The hatchback is bent up some so I am hoping they dont have to replace that but at least I can think about getting a new bumper and maybe some 06 taillights.

Any thoughts?

We will see. I am going to get a new bumper and a nismo wing. Going to the dealership today for an estimate. We shall see what they come back with.

The thing that sucks is that I have a track day coming up with my brother at the St. Louis Gateway International speedway in three weeks. Hopefully I can get something finished before I go.

Any thoughts on a clean looking bumper that goes well with the greddy kit? I am def. getting a nismo wing and since my brake lights are cracked, will be putting on the 06 taillights.

HOLD ON ONE SEC!!! Have you been to the chiropractor for a checkup on possible injuries from whiplash? I sure hope you realize that whiplash is something that can creep up on you brother!
Peace!

I got rear ended by a priest a year and half ago (insert joke here).

It was a solid hit. Similar to one which did lots of damage to an old Civic of mine. I was surprised that the car had relatively little external damage, only the bumper skin, foam, and a turn-signal needed replacing.

However, I immediately felt the seat was out of whack. After 6 months of hell, and 3 dealerships later, I finally had both the bottom and back-rest cushion replaced free of charge. If I were you, I'd get the dealership to thoroughly check the seats. The rear legs of seat-bottom are designed to collapse like a rocking chair to help absorp the impact. These seat-bottoms are expensive (all the motors are part of it) so insurance is not too interested in hearing about such things.

Good luck.

Thanks. Actually. My seat now has this creak in it all of a sudden. When I push my clutch in the seat moves slightly. I am following back up with the dealer tomorrow.

As of right now they have written a 2500.00 estimate. The thaing that really sucks right now is this.

Apparently, enterprise has a secondary ins. comp that handles their claims. That secondary company has to investigate the claim and try to get it filed through the person who rented the commercial vehicle. Well, that comp. is giving me the run around and saying it can take two to three weeks to process this claim which is total BS.

I have a brake light hanging off and a track meet in St. louis to be at in three weeks. I want a rental car while this is being handled and they wont authorize one themselves as of right now. They said I could file the claim with my ins. comp and they would reimburse them after the claim is settled. No way. They need to take care of this, right?

Any thoughts?

Default similar situation....

I was recently sideswiped by a person driving an Enterprise rental. Their insurance company was a bit slow with the paperwork, so I went through my State Farm insurance to get the fix. I had to pay the deductible, but it was fixed in about a week and a half. State Farm then settled everything with their insurance, and I will be receiving a check for my deductible either today or tomorrow. No raised rates, etc. So it was about a two month out-of-pocket (credit card) expense for me. This is probably the best course of action if you want to have your Z fixed the way you want it fixed by the people you want to fix it. Hope this helps.

sorry to hear about your accident. you should definitely get checked out by a doc just in case. neck and back pain may not be evident now, but can cause problems in the future.

this may be a little out there ... but i wonder if the other insurance can claim that your overlays made your brakelights darker(less visable) and technically not street legal.
