Default Tires wore out at 22K

The inside of my front two tires wore out on my Z.
I took it into the dealership to get an oil change and the service guy asked to take a look at the tires (just because) and he noticed it. ( i had no idea) He replaced the front two tires for FREE with a FREE alignment. I only had 26K miles on it at the time. He told me that this happens on all the Z's. Has anyone had this problem yet? You may want to check on it. Just an FYI...

26k is alot of miles on the tires. I was told to expect 16k on the tires.(and nothing to do w/ toe in).Now on my my 1st z 03. i went through 3 sets front tires in 11k. was due to toe in. So i think you have gotten plenty of ride on those tires.

Tire wear does not equal tire feathering. They are two totally different things and are often confused here it seems. Any tire, on any car, will wear on the inside due to improper or agressive alignment.

20K+ miles on these RE040's is great-stop complaining you now drive a sports car with soft compound rubber. Put on some POS 400 treadlife tires and say hello to a pole next time you feel like driving spirited

Well, you got 2 FREE tires and an alignment, so I don't know what the problem is. 26K miles is a lot of life for a sports car. The fact that the mechanic gave you the freebies means he was in a generous mood, or he had a brain fart and the manager will let him know about it and you will get a bill in the mail in a few weeks.

26k miles sounds about right for stock tires... If you ever upgrade to 19" or 20" rims with 40 and 35 series tires, expect around 16k-18k miles out of those tires..

my fronts wore out around 22k. most of the tire was fine but the insides were completely bald. they replaced them for free and adjusted the toe. the tires seem to be wearing a lot more evenly now.

I only got 13.5k on my rears. The treadwear rating on the stock RE040's (140) SUCKS.

Just FYI, how long should tires last on a sports car??? 50 thousand perhaps?
FYI, You got free tires and an alignment!!! Even when you were NOT supposed to get them! And tot he guy who said he might get the bill in the mail, IMPOSSIBLE! That won't happen!

My (only) set of Potenza RE040 tires lasted ~11K miles.

Never liked the Bridgestone Potenza brand anyways.

Currently running BFG KDW2s and much happier.
