Default Service soon engine light..

How do I reset it? For future reference. Got it after installing computer into the car. Cost me $70 to reset it at the dealership.
And, they kept on scaring me about my warranty could be gone if the error comes up again and I need to repair something.
Tried "Search," but kept on getting an error page.

Here are pics of the install if you are interested:

Hardware:

PS: M2-ATX 160W
LCD: Xenarc 700TSV w/ Touchscreen
MB: Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF
CPU: AMD Turion 64 Mobile MT37
Heatsink: Thermaltake Venus 7
RAM: 2X512 Geil PC3500 DDR
HDD: HITACHI 160GB 3.5" SATA
DVD: SAMSUNG 16X DVD DL 5" IDE
USB1: iOne Scorpius Wireless Keyboard / Joystick
USB2: Logitech Cordless Wingman
Serial: GPS BR-355

Now the pics:

Doesn't it look nice. WTF happen later on.

Frontend: Mobile Impact

GPS: Iguidance 2.1.3

Navigation Window Close

Color is a little off since I am using 2003 Navigation window. 2006 doesn't have a pull down window.

Power button. Glows yellow/orange around the base.

Unfortunately, my camera sux at taking dark pictures. Best I can do.

Keyboard & Gamepad

GPS Receiver

If you were wondering, Mario 64 is running on the screen.

Computer hidden behind passenger seat

Computer open

Still have to add reverse camera and USB wireless adapter. Hope, you enjoy. Took me months of researching which allowed me to do it in 3 days.

Your computer and install looks really good.

It's too bad you couldn't use the "Search" function properly (yes it is a common problem not to work for certain words)

because the dealer ripped you the f@%K off. $70 to reset a code? That is a huge scam.

Your sure fire way to get rid of any codes is to unplug the negative terminal of the battery for about 24 hours.

There are other methods that others have suggested but this one works for sure.

Also google technosquare and find an alternate method to "reset" the ECU using the pedals and some good timing.

The question is, if you reset it and the light keeps coming back on, you need to find out WHAT ERROR CODE YOU ARE GETTING.

You can go to autozone or something and have them plug in a diagnostic tool and it will tell you the error code. Then if they don't know what it is, you can post the code up in the Repairing forum and someone will help you.

that's pretty cool. I wonder what could be throwing an error. How did you wire the computer to the car?

Only thing connect to car is PAC-NIS2 (http://www.pac-audio.com/products/pr...Input#AAI-NIS2). It allow me to play sound through OEM Bose system. The only other connections is line directly to battery and ground wire to metal part on the car. The dealership says the error code they saw only happend on wrecked cars. I did unattached a few wire connections, remember battery, climate control, hazard light, and HU, here and there while testing the PC during install. That was probably the problem.

Nope. People have been doing it for years, and I got fuses in place to stop voltage problems.
