Question about HP on 2005 Grand Touring Model
Hey folks, I'm helping a friend by a convertible 350z, and I had a question about the power. We're trying to decide between the 2006 and the 2005. Is HP on the manual 2005 Grand Touring model 287 or 300? I know the anniversary edition is the Rev-up engine, but not sure about the Grand Touring.
Thanks..
Thanks..
The 2005 Grand Touring comes with the 300hp Rev-up engine.

Oh ok. So is it slightly better to have the rev-up engine than 287hp, or does it make a big difference. (If it was a straight quarter mile race... would it make the different in fractions of seconds or seconds on top)
the 06 actually has slower 1/4 times, due to the increase in weight, the 06 also has a slower 0-60 due to the extra weight and less torque...
Only thing better about the 06 is the HID's and LED's... as far as the interior goes, i dont think u should buy a Z based on the interior, nothing to write home about.

I am pretty sure that the 2005 Grand Touring MT has the 300hp engine. Its one of the features that separates it from a Touring model convertible. You are right tho, the web has all sorts of conflicting information.

The 06 also has different (bigger) rotors and calipers I believe. The entire car is practically identical with the exception of the brakes. We know the lights don't make that much weight difference. The amount of sound deadening material on the 05 down cars has been pulled out and weighed.....10lbs. Even if they doubled it, it wouldn't matter. The car weights are almost the same. The 06s also pull harder up top (where most racing is done). I think that would more than make up the 100lb difference in weight if it is even that much. Just changing the wheels alone will knock out most of the weight difference.
