Default Mis shift...

today my friend wanted a ride in my car to see how fast my car is, so i took him out for spin. i was looking for wide open road and soon was i found the road i stepped on the gas and when i shifted from 1st to 2nd i thought it went into 2nd gear so i let go the clutch but it wasnt... so bascially i was reving up while i was in neutral... after that i tried again from 2nd to 3rd gear but samething happened... since it was late at night so i took my dad's shoes which is bigger than mine... and maybe thats why i couldn't shift right into gears... i know im being paranoid but this should be ok for my car right??? since i was just reving up in neutral? thank u guys!

lol.... 6spd owns you....

revving in neutral will not blow your engine, that's basically what the rev-limiter is for.

however, over-revving the engine from a 3-2 downshift when you intended 3-4 could very well blow your engine.

I downshifted from 6th to 2nd gear before and tires chirped. I thought I was cruising slow enough to go in 2nd gear when coming off the highway ramp. But so far, no problems at all. I think they can take a little more abuse from just a couple mistakes.

Sounds like you're letting off the clutch too fast!
Oh, if the shoe doesn't fit,

don't wear em!

i went from 3-2 instead of 3-4 once, but right as i was letting off the clutch i felt that it was in 2nd so i threw it into neutral. caught it right at 5500rpms..... its my cat-like reflexes ya know!

Yea, it happens. When driving hard, it's easy to get locked out of 2nd and 3rd. I'll upshift and wonder why I can't get into 3rd. Once the revs go down, it goes in fine. It just doesn't like fast shifting (more resistance, notchiness, and louder clunk). ARGH!
