I have the same thing, maybe I'll post some pictures tomorrow...

I'm figuring the dealer will just blame it on road damage...but maybe I'll be pleasantly suprised.

I'm curious how something like this is repaired...

That's why you should put touch-up paint and clear coat on rock chips, I guess...

I do not recall seeing rock chips on this area of the roof prior to the spots appearing, although it is possible I missed them. These spots are in the left front corner of the roof, if I'm sitting in the drivers seat facing the front. They are probably 1-2 mm wide.

Well maybe you do not have a camera so...

Touch-up paint alone is not going to cut it. The rust will continue. I recommend a coat of Rust-Oleum touch-up paint. Both white and black are available in hardware stores. Follow with a coat of Nissan touch-up paint.

I forget to add How does it happen? The roof is a odd place for chips but...

Trucks toss rocks in the air. They usually hit the front of the car. It is possible for rocks to hit the roof.

Storms toss all sorts of debris in the air.

Navle Jelly works wonders for rust (not picking your belly button) its a purple slime that my grandpa and my dad taught me to use years ago on early notices of rust. put it on there, give it a night to eat away the rust then you'll actually ned to sand and reshoot the area.

Dang, I have these rust spots too!! I have them on the roof *and* hood. What can be done about this? I'm going to have my hood repainted, but my poor roof! Anyone know (for sure) if this is covered under the factory warranty?

I don't think rust spots on a 1yr old car are normal, esp. on the roof

Kind of strange that a few people have the same spots, could be not primed properly at the factory especially that it is mor ethen one car in the same spot. Anyone contact Nissan customer service yet & say that it is more then 1 car.
