Your not getting bad gas milage, It sounds like you drive untill the gas light is on no? Well If you ride till your on fumes and you put 6 gallons in only 2 will show up on your gas gage because at "empty" you got 4 gallons, 16 gallons is shown by the gauge, 20 total. So again if you run it till theres fumes it will look like you got nothin after putting in 6 gallons. Your gas milage doesnt make sense if what you say is true. My MPG gauge reads as follows and I reset this when I got my car (3k ago) 1/2 highway driving half town.
23.9 MPG
---------
33 AVG. MPG
(PS whats the difference between the top and the bottom mpg?

Wow I was just about to post on this..I have an 05 and from since day one Ive been having gas milage problems...I think its a problem with the factory tune....This car sucks gas like a v8...I would know I had a Q45 before this...I can have 1/4 left and I drive 10 miles with a mixture of mostly cruising but a few blasts in between and Im alomost running on fumes an the light comes on....J
ust like the other guy stated Ill put 4gals in and its like I only get 2-5 mlies per gallon...Im in brooklyn...A trip to Chinatown and back will mean a fill again....Thats less than 7miles from my home...My gas gauge reads 10mph per gallon and I dont drive fast anymore because of the gas prices...I went to the dealer and complained and they told me it ws in my head...This is the only problem I have with the Z so far....If its gonna guzzle gas like this it better perform like a Viper instead of what it does....

considering your car has around what 280-300 hp, it is capable of burning a lot of fuel, basicly lay off the gas and your gas mileage will be fine, play the game "Keep it below 2500 rpms and you'll be all set".
My car can go 19mpg combined city/highway all the way up to 25 combined or 30 highway.
