af probs...maybe
ok, check out my sig and all my mods so far. from what i hear once you do alot of breathing mods you get crazy af ratios. well i got my plx working finally and i was checking out my af ratio. i was told that 14.7 is optimal (dont know if its true) and if it is then im good. al lowest i hit 14.4 and highest is 14.8. thats all the way through the rpms, both sitting at rest and reving and going through all gears. well, not through all of 6th. thats alittle stupid on surface streets. so am i good or should i tune? and why is my car at such a good af ratio when everyone else is whining about crazy af. does it have something to do with the rev up engine?
14.7 optimal? LOL
That's LEAN my friend.
You should be aiming at 13. Basically anything over 13 = lean, and under 13 = rich
Anything over 14 is just too lean.
Time for ECU reflash or UTEC.

Actually, 14.7 is optimal for burning as much fuel as possible, so yes, it is an efficient ratio. The thing is, to make power these engines like around 13:1. You also wouldn't want it to be getting near 15 at the top of your rpm's, you would want it to be lower than 13 at the very top to protect the motor. If you want the most from your mods, go ahead and get a tune, it'll be better for the motor in the long run anyway.
