Default Z problems..

Ok today.. I installed STILLEN Race pipes.. along with my DRYFLOW Filter for them AEM CAI right.. wel everything went well I started the car raised it on the lift no leaks it was great so I drove back home and It was all good. I was so happy that I decided to go out and drive so I found myself on this nice str8, no cars.. so I let it rip but as soon as I hit 4K rpm the engine wont respond to the throttle as if no fuel was being fed..the engine wont shut off be beyong 4K no thing happens.. I let off again and press just below and it goes up again. I've been thinking but I am not sure maybe I am lean or rich.. I dnt know what lean or rich means but I think is one of those 2 as I heard this happens when you do alot of exhaust mods. I have headers, TP, Y-pipe and the exhaust.. my CEL is on.. so i guess something must not be right..

No expert here, but my Rx7 did the same thing at 3800, and you could only give it 1/4 throttle after that RPM or it would just keep bucking. I will go out on a limb and say fuel injectors or something within the fuel system is funky, as you stated.

I'm no expert either, but you might want to start with an ECU reset, its quick and free.

I had a huge problem with "bucking" on my '96 ranger with a 9" lift and 35" tires, found out my spark plugs had gone to crap quick. All i had to do was replace them, I still dont get any power at WOT but im not bucking.

try to run your car over 4k rpm and more than 50 mph, put it in neutral to see if it stall

sounds like a MAF problem, did your removed the MAF for any reason? is the air still moving in the correct direction. check that...disconnect the battery and try again

Hey thx for the input guys.. well i chcked the maf and yeah its facing the right direction.. the N mean north so yep it's good.. now on my way to work I drove and jst kept my shifts at 3K so I took 4th gear up to like 4200 and placed it in neutral and let off all is working fine.. as long as I dont rip it it's fine.. I got WOT and this happens.. looks like indeed it's time for the re-flash. I want to take full advantage of all these mods and the seems the next step.. maybe afterwards i'll dyno to see what this rev-up puts down with bolt ons..
