I am a smoker, but I quit smoking in my car when I got the Z. If you wanted to get the smell out it's not impossible. There is a car detailing shop that can completely wash your car. It's not cheap though.

my friend gave me this stuff called "smoke-out" (sounds funny), i think u get it at HOME DEPOT... smells wierd but seems to get rid of smoke smell.

I smoke but not in the Z! I've had it 6mo and not one. It's not that hard not to, I owned a 88 v6 4x4 toyota and didn't smoke in it the whole time I had it, 3.5 years.

Somking in a car, with the windows down, holding it out the window, blowing smoke out the window, tossing the butt out the window, etc and your car will still smell like an ashtray!

My nose is so sensitive, even if a smoker has been in my car, without smoking in my car, I can smell a smoker has been in my car for a few days.

My mother smokes, and I have to get here to exhale like 10 times before I let her climb in my car. And that was my crappy daewoo.

Shes not even alowed to get into my new Z I picked up yesterday, hehehehe.
She can look at the interior through the closed window

I have been accused of being pathetic about my sensitive nose.

Dont bring a cup of cofee or Onion and Chives potato chips anywhere near me or I will

Yep.....I'm wierd.

I make it a practice to never smoke "tobacco" in my car, besides pot smoke doesn't linger.

depends on how often you smoke in your car and how much you keep on you.
If I just smoke one spliff in my car It will smell for 3 days.If I keep a gram it will always have the aroma. I'm talking about "tobacco"

my dad bought a 6 year old camry from some guy who used to smoke in it all the time, that thing was dirty, i cleaned everything in there, and the seats were all covered with tar, they would soak in the smell.

you can do all you want to clean it or deodorize it, but in the end, the tar will stain you seats no matter how well you clean them, unless you do it everyday and the smell will last a lifetime, if you only do it a few times, then you should be ok.

trust me, i will never buy a smokers car again, the A/C smells like crap too even after i changed the in cabin filter and used lysol.

I smoke in the Z all the time. First thing I did pulling out of the lot was light up. With that said, Im sure the smell lingers regardless and non-smokers can tell, but I also think its a huge difference between having leather seats and having cloth seats. Smokers with cloth seats in their cars remind me of that smell in Vegas hotels. Smokers with leather seats in their cars remind me of that smell in nice Vegas hotels!!! As far as resale value goes, who cares, I aint sellin my Z anyway.
